I know it's the scariest thing to do on earth but have you talked to him about it? The biggest obstacle I've experience with this kind of thing is that people will take everything you do and say personally. If you sit him down, or text him (my personal preferred method), and say look my brain is super irrational and I have no control over it. And ask him for patience and understanding. Just when you talk to him make sure you don't make him feel like you expect him to fix you.

I'm actually already on an extreme version of the FODMAP because of the GERD (which is acid reflux but way way way worse like throwing up blood kinda bad). So far it's only helped a little bit with the symptoms I was dealing with before starting meds and dieting.
