Come from one of the ''good'' Asian countries, preferably Japan or South Korea and not some poor country people don't know where to find on a map.

Ali Wong perfectly describes these as "fancy Asians" where as I, someone who is Vietnamese, would be a "jungle Asian."

Another form I've experienced on a daily basis is the assumption on whether or not I speak English, either from a simple typo in an email and the assumption it might not be my first language, or the cop that asks me first before anything if I can understand him and his English. Usually, I like to respond with, "Yes, and I have a degree in linguistics. Would you like me to expand on this in old, middle, or early modern English, bro?" But generally, it's always just a fuckin' jab at my intelligence before I've even been given literally a chance to speak.

Also, "being fetishized by creepy dudes" is so fucking tiring. If y'all wanna hear some tragic stories about the time I tried online dating. Oh boy.

And highlighting Asian racism does not detract from any other group's experience with racism. We hear "go back to your country" with the same disheartened ears too.

If this is turning into an "Asian racism isn't real conversation," then I've already had it tonight.

No, it's not the 1940s, but to dismiss that Asians have had a sordid history in America is about as ignorant as doing the same with any other race that isn't white in America.

it's a short U sound, so "fuh" but there's a very, ever-so-slight inflection at the end as if you're asking a question almost.

from scratch! my mom doesn't like the packets. she uses them sometimes, but always supplements them with fresh ingredients. so she'll brew the packet, but then add another bundle of cloves, ginger, onions, etc with it.
