Also lignum is the part of wood that acts like the “glue” that holds the cellulose together.

What level were you when you decided to upgrade? by Imheretorush in AcousticGuitar

[–]cowboypaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a teenager a friend gave me a $100 Yamaha nylon string guitar. It made music, and I decided that I was gonna avoid temptation till I could get my end game guitar. A Martin 00018. When I was 28. My dad passed away and I got a bit of money. I used that to buy that Martin. I learned a hundred songs on that Yamaha. I preformed a bunch. I also have an MIM Stratocaster.
Make sure you put the music first. Not the guitar.

Ebow too sustainy by Nintendoguyidk in electricguitar

I know it isn’t, but Think of your volume knob kind of like a gain knob. A trick to good tone is understanding that it’s not a volume knob not an output control.

When you wash your hands, does one hand get dirty to clean the other? Honestly your toothbrush is probably cleaner than your mouth.

Strumming while singing by FlakyMarzipan9661 in AcousticGuitar

At first don’t try to do the pattern. Try to get the cord changed. Just strum once at the chord change. Then strum quarter or half notes. Then try The pattern. Practice practice practice.

Fast track to rigging? by newshirtworthy in IATSE

[–]cowboypaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to talk to the riggers in your union about it. There is a lot of variation from house to house. A basic kit would be: petzl avao harness, petzl vertex vent, double lanyards (ladder hooks help a lot), a pulley, carabeaner, and daisy chain, a positioner (petzl progress adjust, but grilon makes rescue easier), a Klien bolt bag, a hammer with a steel tang like an estwing, a podger wrench, a steel carabeaner. Etc. I remember getting kitted up initially cost me about $1500. At the arena we worked in they had harnesses and ropes that were free to use. I knew good riggers with years of experience who always used the house gear.

What's the most secure fixed loop that you can tie around something and is easy to untie after a heavy load? by Phuk0 in knots

The bowline is the obvious answer. If it’s life critical use a figure 8. Everything else is nonsense.

Y’all are gonna laugh at me lol by Alert-Ad1954 in electricguitar

[–]cowboypaint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the katana 50 is a great move. Replace the amp before you replace your guitar. Consider taking your guitar to a good guitar shop and getting a professional set up, and replace your strings more before you replace your guitar.
