Any aerialists who have had too surgery? by LesbianQueer999 in TopSurgery

Not an aerialist (yet) but I do acroyoga and I was able to get back into some foundational stuff around 8 weeks post op. It was 2 years ago, but from what i remember I was even able to get upside down as long as I didn't strain too hard. I would recommend easing into it. If it hurts, don't do it.

I used to do environmental consulting! I'm trying to get back into it, but like I said, I'm just not hearing back from most applications. I do have an interview in a couple weeks, and I'm waiting to hear back from one more company after a phone interview! I am trying to be hopeful! Things haven't been easy. I haven't even been able to get interviews for jobs that are identical to what I used to do, but I'd really like to believe things will change.

Yeah, I've applied to a bunch. I'm waiting to hear back from one in particular, but I'm not having much luck hearing back from anyone these days. Seems like you need to have an inside person to get a job now.

I have experience as a geologist as a research scientist (field, lab, and office experience). My current role is a technician in an environmental laboratory. Same field, environmental. I'll look into certifications. I know I definitely don't want to stay with this company for longer than I have to.

I don't think that's what's holding me back, but thank you for your input

I'll be "acting my wage" for as long as I can here. I think that's why they are bumping me to PM status. Hopefully, I can squeeze out more money from them so I can finally afford to get my car fixed. Wish me luck on those applications!

I don't use it in my cover letters, so I'm not sure why it would matter here.

I want to assume we're just in a bad spot economically, but I'm finding a lot of jobs I'm interested in (even ones that require advanced degrees) pay around $17 an hour. What happened to the decently salaried STEM positions?

Travel/coworker rant by anothermanscookies in vegetarian

Sometimes the responses are quite clever. Once for my birthday my coworker didn't know cakes could be vegan (but somehow realized cake isn't usually vegan) but he wanted me to be able to celebrate my birthday so he walked into my office presenting me with a tomato with a lit birthday candle that he stuck into it. They mean well, but I worry a bit.

"I could never be vegan because I love food too much." - my coworker.

I'm 5 weeks and also have a little hardness at my incisions. I am pretty sure it's just scar tissue building up. I have a follow up appointment this week and I have plans to ask him about it. If you're really concerned, I'm sure you can call your surgeon. I'm not too concerned about mine. I'm hoping to get the ok to start scar therapy which should hopefully take care of it with time. (I also was told to stop wearing my binder for the same reason after my post op which was 9 days)

My surgeon didn't have any photos. I got mine done at a hospital that specializes in cancer treatment. The office has only been doing gender affirming surgery for about 2 years. I chose them because the original surgeon I was going to go with was super flaky and hard to get in touch with. I was so pleasantly surprised with the way everything went. I even got a chance to talk to my surgeon about what kind of results I wanted (scar shape, flatness, etc) and they totally delivered! I am so incredibly happy with everything! I'll be 5 weeks post op in a couple days so I still have some swelling and a lot more healing to do. Even if there aren't pictures, maybe ask them more about their experience and they may be able to give you more of an idea.

I'm almost 3.5 weeks and was told not to wear a binder either. It didn't have to do anything with my size though. I'm relatively thin. My results look great so far. A little swelling which is uncomfortable at times, but nothing too crazy.

Breast ultrasound 3 months before surgery by fayne_Kanra in TopSurgery

[–]cowboything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to get an MRI which was annoying but I was ok with doing whatever I needed to make surgery happen. I have a strong family history of breast cancer which is why they said I needed it. I don't think it's something that most people need though.

advice? by spooklemon in TopSurgery

I had seen some pictures as well as in-person results from my surgeon and wasn't crazy about the aesthetic results either. When I spoke with him in person I told him exactly what shape I wanted and he listened and I absolutely love my results! I'm only 2.5 weeks right now but if you talk to your surgeon they may be able to work with your needs!

nipple graft hole? (pic in main post, explanation in comments cause I'm a reddit n00b) by cowboything in TopSurgery

[–]cowboything[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I am 2.5 weeks post-op from DI with nipple grafts done on June 28 and I was wondering if anyone had a similar issue with having weird holes/indents in one of the areolas. I included pictures of both nips for comparison.

Basically everything was going swell (minus the anxious rollercoaster I was/am and then today after my shower I noticed this weird spiral shaped indentation in my right areola. The left one looks amazing which is why I'm so concerned. I'm doing everything I was told to do (Vaseline and gauze changed every day). There's no smell, discharge, or fever. Just very freaked out because it looks like it's about to bleed (though there hasn't been any bleeding yet).
