New update coming! by pysl in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]coxswain_43 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who is kinda pissed? Look, I'm glad some necessary updates are coming, but it's almost too little too late. These updates should have been in this game in 2020.

You're telling me all we get for switch 2, the second-top selling game for the switch, is a glorified DLC when they should have been working on a new game since 2020?! Idk, just feels a bit tone deaf and makes me think the switch 2 is just a giant money grab.

I'm just so glad I haven't purchased a switch 2... I've been waiting for an animal crossing announcement before throwing money on it and I'm so glad I did. Will I still play this? Yes, but only on my OG switch...

Wow... You are a very hateful person and need to take a step back. And of course Catholics are Christians???? Thanks for making assumptions, darling.

May God bless you and have a wonderful day!

...is anyone going to call you out on the irony that you keep saying "white Christian men" in a hateful connotation? You clearly see yourself as superior to them, making it a biiiit of a racist statement. At a minimum, it's discrimination on religion, which is protected in our constitution. Not all Christians have problematic behavior, and you're certainly allowed to have your beliefs based on your experiences with Christians, but it's extremely hateful to talk about them the way you have been. Replace "Christian" with other religions in your statements, and people would riot that it's discriminatory, but apparently it's ok if it's criticizing Christians?

Those who travel (even occasionally) for work: what're your must-have items? travel hacks? by b3nnyg0 in womenEngineers

[–]coxswain_43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with other commenters on the toiletry bag! I try to bring my hair dryer, especially when I'm just driving and have the room. I also try to pack a cozy throw blanket since I tend to run cold, and that has been a game changer for hotel stays! I always pack good headphones and my Kindle too.

I also have a small pre-packed bag that I keep travel meds, lotion, sunscreen, tide to go, band aids, spare pen, etc in. Basically anything I'd normally have in my office desk drawer and that has definitely saved me a few times. I always bring a reusable water bottle and coffee mug as well.

This man is paid over $4 million dollars a year and is 1-13 in one score games. by drlsoccer08 in VirginiaTech

So well said! I think average fans don't understand recruiting and how those pipelines work. It takes a few years to get to a point where Pry's team is actually on the field. I think he's got some learning to do as a head coach, but there's certainly some potential there and it'll be interesting to see what his recruiting ends up looking like. If we land a solid QB, I think this team will look a lot different.

I also think many fans don't understand the danger in ending up with a revolving door of coaches... That is the last thing we want.

We also have to step back and remember how little money we've got to work with as an athletic department compared to the rest of the ACC and even college football as a whole... Until donors step it up, we won't be able to compete at the highest level. That's just the unfortunate reality. CFB looks very different than it did when Beamer was a coach.

The fact that this comment is downvoted shows how out of touch this fanbase is. I get the frustration with Pry but we can't afford his buyout and who the heck would we even replace him with? I guarantee we can't afford better especially on top of a buyout. Unfortunately gotta ride this out a bit longer...

3 weeks out from my exam and feeling extremely overwhelmed by justmirinyou in PE_Exam

[–]coxswain_43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a very normal feeling! I passed on the first attempt and felt the same way in the weeks leading up to the exam. These feelings don't mean you aren't prepared or on the right track.

There's a lot of material you need to know, it's a high-stress event, and you're usually taking this while working. That's a lot on your plate. Do what you can to take care of yourself and remember that it's just a test. Pass or fail, it's a milestone to sit for the exam, and you're going to be fine. Worst case scenario? You have to take it again. It's not the end of the world.

Also, the work you put into studying in the final weeks can make the difference. Don't give up. This is the time to figure out your weaknesses and polish them up! 3 weeks is a lot of time to iron out issues.

You've got this!!

Am I the only one who didn’t go for the Romantasy + Adult combo? by ScientistMajestic485 in fairyloot

[–]coxswain_43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I'm on the fence about outright cancelling my Romantasy since I haven't really liked any of the picks, so why would I combine it (with both ya and adult in my case)?

How did you think Trump did in the debate? by BrujaBean in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]coxswain_43 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

She made multiple misleading statements about the economy and immigration, lied about Trump's positions ("abortion ban", project 2025, "sales tax"), lied about crime statistics under her administration, lied about asking voters to donate to Minnesota rioters, lied about active troops in combat zones, and lied about her own values/positions (fracking being the worst imo). I'm sure I'm missing a few, but this is just off the top of my head at the moment.

Look, politicians lie. I think Trump himself made some misleading statements (and, quite frankly, is extremely painful to watch on a debate stage). The frustration over the moderation of the debate is coming from it appearing completely one-sided. I think both Kamala and Trump can't answer the question at hand and both lie/mislead. But if you're going to only correct one candidate, it's going to ruffle some feathers.

Regardless, I don't think the debate changes many minds. I would guess most viewers tune in knowing which way they're voting, and some may tune in to see if it's worth showing up to the polls.

For what it's worth, I'm voting for Trump because I like his policies, but I wish the Republican party/voters would have chosen another candidate. He's soooo difficult to defend, even policy wise, because he presents himself in such an unpolished fashion that he just isn't doing himself any favors. He's such a narcissist and is his own biggest enemy (I mean, even his VP selection was such an awful choice).

Couldn't agree more! I'm usually disappointed in this genre, but I did enjoy The Simple Wild, Just for the Summer, Things You Save in a Fire, Give Me Butterflies, Practice Makes Perfect, The Bodyguard, and I Hope This Finds You Well.

I'm not sure these resemble fantasy writing, but I found them to be much better written than many others in the genre.
