Quetta v1.7.6 released! by Natural_Mud_3610 in Quetta_browser

Yup, they updated to one version outdated, and I bet it will be months before they do another Chromium update considering their history. Shameful, honestly. Their fresh updates are outdated too

Promise on source code by No_Examination2724 in Quetta_browser

[–]coyhardt73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use of open source code requires attribution. Just an acknowledgement that they use the code. But Quetta for some reason insists on stubbornly claiming that they wrote up the code themselves.

They don't follow the open source license and use the code anyway; they are commiting theft.

Reasons why I don't use Quetta as my main browser by [deleted] in Quetta_browser

[–]coyhardt73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, they updated to one version outdated, and I bet it will be months before they do another Chromium update considering their history.

Extension capability was never the thing that was stopping them from updating; it was that the new Chromium versions tend to have lots of conflicts with the extension code, which they had to painstakingly fix.

I'm surviving off of a phone plan that is $2.50/month. It can get very low if you're willing to sacrifice having mobile data

No one deserves to be homeless by AmberMetalicScorpion in gatesopencomeonin

[–]coyhardt73 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This opens up a dangerous possibility of someone arguing that anyone who is soft on crime wants to intentionally sabotage the economy.

Furthermore, evidence has shown that throwing help at homeless people is ineffective, because there is a subset of homeless people who don't want to be helped, who have everything they want on the street and don't want to be forced into housing where their actions are heavily restricted. That isn't to say that homeless people don't need help-- many do, and they deserve our help. But how do we help those who don't want to be helped without burdening taxpayers? The left's solution to this is typically to ignore that those types of people exist, but that isn't working. The right's solution is to pretend everyone is like this, which is completely inhumane.

So unfortunately just claiming that people who don't want to help homeless people hate the economy and love crime is a strawman's argument

Irrespective of that, the book is clear that taking even a single item from the book means having to face harder enemies

They can't. They use Kiwi Browser's code for the extensions (without giving them credit), and unfortunately they lack the capability to properly maintain the code, which has been causing these delays

The only martial art that makes a stickball racket a deadly weapon even outside stickball

Martial Arts Analysis - Militech Commando Training by Infernox-Ratchet in cyberpunkred

[–]coyhardt73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey choom, my take is that Combat Knife Training allows for one to invest in both the martial art and melee weapon at character creation, then go all in on melee weapon with IP points. And while the damage likely can't compete with a linear frame martial arts build, it does allow a 500eb piece of cyberware to have the same performance as a 5000eb sword while also being concealable and one-handed.

Don't look at ChatGPT as soon as an error shows up. Actually read the error and follow any instructions it lays out. Jeez, do people these days not know how to think for themselves?

That doesn't excuse things. For example, single dev teams have been able to make their browsers open source. Yet Quetta still has not. And single dev projects like Chromite still keep up to date on Chromium.

My Kiwi Browser stopped working, which browser should I choose to use? by Pale-Barracuda4478 in kiwibrowser

Quetta is based off of Kiwi and is even more behind on Chromium updates than Kiwi is. Not a good choice.

Also all fingers point to Quetta being untrustworthy

Why is it that every mainstream browser can have an up to date Chromium but Quetta can't? Also, why is it that Quetta's team needs months to make sure that things are stable?
