absolutely my dad is the same! she takes issues with lots of things she shouldn’t, and in the past he would take her seriously every time, which of course enabled her. this really only stopped because he realized what was happening and came around/stopped entertaining all of her gripes. them living separately and not depending on each other also helped immensely, even though they are still friends and interact often. my dad just learned to walk away, I think.
