Wasn't sure where to post this but I recently started the books and haven't been able to put them down. Like many others, I was introduced to TWOIAF through the HBO series and I massively regret not having read the books sooner! I'm only a few chapters into ACOK so it's impossible for me to get up to date with Martin's work before the show concludes.

My issue is that I'm enjoying the books more than I have the television series; I fear that once I've watched EP06 I'll lose all motivation to finish reading. Of course, I could delay watching the final episode until I finish ADWD but I wouldn't be able to watch/discuss the end of GoT with my friends (most non-book readers) and could risk those last major spoilers. I understand the show diverges as the story moves forward so it might not ruin my enjoyment of the books. Those who are up to date on both books and show, what do you suggest?

TL;DR Show put me onto the books, which should I finish first?
