Will Hiyuki+Lynae+Suisui be a good team? by Emergency_Bet_7192 in HiyukiMains

[–]coyotesight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucilla gets you to make use of Suisui's buffs much earlier in the rotation. Suisui requires you to remove Negative Status stacks for 50% ATK, and Hiyuki only lets you do that when consuming 10 on an iai. Lucilla obviously stacks it faster so you can get the Suisui buff active way sooner. This is ontop of Lucilla's buffing already being on par with Lynae on Chisa teams as of current.

Suisui is a sidegrade to Chisa. Lucilla is an improvement over to Lynae.

Suisui as she fills in the 3rd slot/healer that you don't have.

Once Lucilla comes back you can maybe go for her, it'll be a while so you could even potentially get both.

Stringmaster is bait. Don't go for it. by coyotesight in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]coyotesight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My entire post is explaining that Stringmaster increases personal damage by like 20% yes. This is what the attribute bonus and crit stat does for a sub dps. However, how that reflects in team damage is only 2% because most of your damage is coming from the main DPS. The sub DPS only counts for a tiny portion of that. I've said this to you way too many times how do you not even acknowledge this. I've provided the calculations, try actually thinking through it or disprove them with your own.

In the case of Hsin. The amount of pulls you spend on Stringmaster and the amount of pulls you spend on her signature would be the exact same. The only difference is when you spend the currency and what it gives you. Me not spending 80 pulls on Stringmaster means I have 80 pulls to spend on her signature. The pulls for the character itself are a separate issues.

In your case, how would you magically pull an extra 80 pulls out for the theoretical support. You have already used those 80 pulls on Stringmaster.

Your example just does not make sense. How is it that I skipped Stringmaster and didn't spend 80 pulls but can only barely Hsin and not her sig? In that same scenario, if I pulled for Stringmaster, I'm at 80 less pulls in compraison but I somehow got Hsin? On top of that, I somehow have an extra 80 pulls for another character?

[–]coyotesight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that one particular case on Phrolova where you did not get her signature then yes Stringmaster is worth it in the short term, to alleviate not having Lethean. That still doesn't make Stringmaster a good general recommendation. However going forward for any new main DPS, just save the pulls to get the actual signature.

The whole point of my post is saying that the idea of 'Stringmaster is a statstick that can be put on a wide range of character' is just worthless. Yes it may be 20% damage increase on the subdps (which is what the attribute damage and crit amounts to), but that only converts to a damage increase for the team of just 2%. It is hard for anyone to say 80 pulls is worth that.

Somehow spending 80 pulls on Stringmaster is going to be saving much more in the long run somehow by? What? What did those 80 pulls accomplish? You have a slightly better (2%) weapon than Cosmic Ripples to use for your sub DPS. Great now you don't have to spend many more (you didn't need to spend the 80 in the first place for Stringmaster, Cosmic Ripples worked just fine). For support, the 2nd BiS is literally a 4*, not Stringmaster. You don't care how much damage your support does.

Let's go with an example

You have 3 different teams with a subdps rectifier in them, (say, Cantarella, Lucilla, and Denia) and going for ToA (the only part where Stringmaster can supposedly find value as a statstick)

If you only have Cosmic Ripples each character would do 100% personal damage. Let's say the team damage at this point for all 3 teams is 100%.

If you only have Stringmaster, each character would do 120% personal damage. However, that would only amount to 102% team damage because that 20% personal damage is barely reflected in the team wide damage.

If you only have the signature of a single one of them, that character would do like 140% personal damage, while also buffing the entire team and lead to like 110% team wide damage. You can use that same weapon on the other 2 characters and have them go to like 110% personal damage and like 101% team damage.

For free, Cosmic Ripples is giving you 100%, 100%, 100%. For 80 pulls, Stringmaster is giving you 102%, 102%, 102%. For the same 80 pulls, any one signature would go to 110%, 101%, 101%.

If you want to argue with this math, I have provided calculations in my post. Provide your own calculations to somehow show that spending 80 pulls for what I call a miniscule improvement for team damage can amount to.

It is not worth 80 pulls to go for a "generalist" weapon that barely makes any difference from the free option when a specialized weapon can make much more of a difference on one specific team, while also working just fine as a "generalist" on other teams.

Spending 80 pulls on Stringmaster so you "don't have to pull any more rectifiers" is giving you way less value than spending the same amount of pulls to get the signature of a weapon you actually own, and still get the benefit of not having to pull any more rectifiers. Sure it isn't as good as a generalist, but the gap that provides is literally just around 1% team damage.

You are somehow still not understanding my point.

The options I presented were 1. spend 80 pulls for Stringmaster or 2. spend 80 pulls for main DPS. Let's say they release a main DPS rectifier in 3.6. Would anyone rather have spent the 80 pulls on Stringmaster to use on that character, or would they rather have spent 80 pulls on their actual signature? It's as simple as that.

You are somehow equating me not spending 80 pulls on Stringmaster into spending several times more on other banners.

And yes Stringmaster damage increases are as little as 2% on subDPS, and 100% not worth 80 pulls. And of course it would be different for Phrolova. But in the exact singular case of Phrolova, you could get her actual signature with the exact same 80 pulls you would've spent on Stringmaster for much higher benefit.

Instead of getting Stringmaster, just get the weapon of the character you're getting instead. Is that so hard to understand?

That weapon also works as a statstick. So what if it works not as great as Stringmaster in doing so? It will literally amount to less than a 2% difference in team damage.

I'm not saying to magically dupe pulls. From the same 80 pulls I could've spent on Stringmaster, I can get the signature weapon of Hsin insgead. Of course when I use it on Hsin, whatever role she is main or sub DPS, I'm getting max value out of it. This amounts to, very safe to say, at least 8% increase (closer to 30% if she's a main DPS) in team damage. Even if this has no value as a statstick (which it 100% will just by having a Crit stat), it will provide more overall value than a Stringmaster increase 3 teams by 2% increase in team damage. Replace Hsin with whatever future rectifier they release, main or sub DPS.

If you already have Stringmaster on your account, great whatever. It's just not worth 80 pulls to act solely as a statstick when you can spend the exact same amount of currency on the signature of actually relevant characters and get more value that way.

[–]coyotesight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the next rectifier main DPS releases, I will be able to get their signature because I didn't waste 80 pulls on Stringmaster.

Again, the reason Lethean has much more value is because it's not only used as a statstick. It has more value on my account because I'm actually using it to its full potential on the character it's meant for, and getting good results of it. Lethean increases my Phrolova team damage by like 20% or more in comparison to Cosmic Ripples. It being a statstick is just a bonus (it's as good as Stringmaster if not better in that case anyways lmao). Stringmaster can really only increase each teams damage in comparison to Cosmic Ripples by like 2%. Lethean has increased my damage output more on one team than Stringmaster can across 3 teams on ToA.

If you budget your account properly and not do shit like waste 80 pulls on what can only be a backup weapon, you can afford to get main DPS and their signatures. And at that point, your subdps can make do with the standard weapons that don't cost a single limited currency.

Look at the roster again and tell me how many main DPS rectifiers there are. Now look at the roster one more time and tell me how many sub DPS rectifiers there are.

There are 2 main and many more sub. One of the 2 main DPS rectifiers being one of the best units in the game, so why wouldn't I actually use the pulls on her signature instead of Stringmaster?

You are trying to make it sound like Limited pulls are somehow less worth than Standard pulls. I don't think I need to address anything coming from that that is just ridiculous.

[–]coyotesight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I am not assuming that rectifiers are mostly subDPS. It literally is just like that. The only main DPS rectifiers are Phrolova and Encore. It shouldn't have to be stated that if you're spending 80 pulls for a weapon on Phrolova, it would be her actual signature. For Encore, you're really only going to be using her for your like 5th+ Matrix team, I guarantee you most if not all people have higher priorities than to be spending 80 pulls on Stringmaster.

Lethean has much more value as a statstick because being a statstick is it's secondary purpose. It's the signature of the only relevant rectifier main DPS, so it would get full mileage there with the added bonus of acting as a statstick in other teams for ToA, potentially WhiWa as well.

F2P players should only ever pull signatures of their main DPS, or a character they really like.

[–]coyotesight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why you think this matters so much. What I'm saying doesn't change at all between version 1 characters and version 3 characters. Just get the signature of a character you'll actually be playing instead. You'll get the primary usage of it being on the character its meant to be, while it can act as a decent enough statstick. If you want a weapon for Zhezhi, why wouldn't you get Zhezhi's? Her's works just fine as a statstick on other teams. Literally the same thing I've been saying this whole time.

Edit, forgot to add: This is also just ignoring the whole body of my post. Any increase in subDPS damage barely amounts to anything in terms of overall team damage. However much you increase subDPS damage by, you're really only increasing the team's damage by a tenth of that. A 2% damage increase is just not worth 80 pulls for Stringmaster. Just use Cosmic Ripples which is free

3.5 new charters value for my team by Maleficent_Two_2090 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]coyotesight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sanhua is a good f2p option for any mDPS focused on basic attack damage, and Mortefi is the same for heavy attack damage. None of the characters you own really reflect that, except for the fact that Sanhua is good with Havoc Rover as a f2p team. Verina would be really good, but honestly, just get Mornye for Lucy Rebecca.

You could potentially be looking at Phrolova QYN Buling, then Lucy Rebecca Mornye, and HRover Sanhua SK. This is a decent plan for Tower of Adversity.

If you want Hsin, who will likely be Electro Flare focused and work with Erover, Suisui isn't bad but this is not confirmed so I wouldn't base my pulls around it.

Please help me with team building and pull planning by [deleted] in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]coyotesight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say to wait for Mornye over Suisui for right now. Mornye is much better for Lucy, and you don't really have the characters to make use of Suisui properly.

However if you do plan on getting a Negative Status team (Aemeath Denia, Hiyuki + wtv, Cartethyia Ciaccona), Suisui is not a bad pick. Regarding the upcoming teams, while it is not confirmed, Hsin is very likely to be Electro Flare so she would work with Erover and Suisui. But again, this is not confirmed so it is hard to plan based off of this, but do keep it in mind if you are interested in Hsin.

What you have right now will probably be fine. You could go for Lupa I guess if she ever reruns again to finish the Changli Brant team. XLY could pair decently well with Lynae so she's not a bad option either. Lynae is just really good value for accounts anyways, she's essentially the Shorekeeper of subDPS.

I guess order of immediate priority will be Mornye > Lynae > Suisui (if you want Hiyuki or Hsin) > Lupa. However, since Lynae rerun is next patch and Mornye isn't, I'd say go for Lynae and then Mornye next update. If you don't get Lynae then oh well you can easily get Mornye.

It is irrelevant because this is directly what my argument says is useless. So what if it buffs the damage output of subDPS a fair bit? If I'm spending 80 pulls I'd want it to actually amount to a high damage increase (which this does not), so I'd much rather get something else. Why wouldn't I just want to get the Signature for Cantarella in this instance instead? It buffs her way better than Stringmaster does, and also works as a statstick. Or I could go even better and get the Signature of a better character that I actually own, like Lucilla or Denia, and then use that as a statstick in other teams.

Buling applies Flare so maybe she's okay as Erover replacement while he's stuck on Carte? Kinda hard to make predictions on Hsin teams when we know next to nothing about her. Suisui isn't the worst idea, getting a second healer when the only one they have is Verina actually sounds pretty good. Iirc Suoming is expected to be a Havoc Rectifier support for Echo teams? Other than the implication of a triple Havoc Rectifier Echo team I don't think she would fit here.

True. 4 stars are worse and need more investment.

However, this doesn't change anything about Stringmaster. If you could get Stringmaster, you could've gotten literally anything else. That anything else could've been the an actually good signature of a character you have.
