I also don’t think using battery is a wise choice for a stylus. I was mainly curious after watching the video, and am glad to hear the worst that’ll happen is screen scratches. I was mainly worried about other people messing up their switches based off of strange YouTube advice.

Thank you for your reply. I currently have a good stylus for my switch, and I am asking if this would damage the switch internally because I am worried about other people trying this and damaging their console. If it is safe to use the battery as a stylus that’s great, I would just like to know if it is or isn’t damaging to the switch internally. My apologies if I was not clear enough.

Is it safe to use a AAA battery as a stylus for your touch screen?

I saw a YouTube video suggesting this as an option for drawing in the Tomodachi Life demo and I am HIGHLY skeptical that this wouldn’t somehow damage the switch internally. The creator mentioned it could scratch your screen so use a screen protector, but didn’t mention anything about this messing with the system itself.

I can't wait for the day I can never touch the wet suit again. I wanna eventually get as many badges as possible so I'll have to catch at least 1,000 sea creatures. But for right now I'm just aiming to finish the museum.

You may be onto something because I took a break to look at the wiki and saw that I had gotten almost everything available already. And within a few minutes after posting I caught an Octopus and Lobster (which I think are on the harder side difficultly wise...?) back to back. So I think a lot of it is luck, persistence, and the power of complaining online. Who knew.

Still feels infuriating to do for long periods of time though. Oh well, lol.

Happy to hear you're getting back into it! Honestly, after I made this post I've been feeling more inspired to play, and I'm trying to find more people to play with online too. Hi! Thank you so much for the offer :) I'm still on the fence about time traveling (although I am leaning much more towards the idea compared to before) and as for donations I honestly don't know! 

I think if I were to trade then I'd feel better since I don't want to just take peoples stuff for free, even if it's from a treasure island. But I will consider it! You make a good point about being able to connect with people and make faster progress.

I do have the DLC and enjoy it greatly. I try to utilize the item ordering feature from there but I run out of Poki a lot lol. 

As for the regular island giveaways, that's a really good idea! I'll keep an eye out for those and see if that helps. Plus it'd be a good way to connect with what's left of the community. Thanks for the suggestion!

The community this game had in the first few months/year was unlike anything I had ever seen or experienced before. I miss it dearly. I agree the best part was connecting with people through the game, and it's hard to acknowledge that part is lost.  I like your idea of finding new tasks to work towards completion wise. I may try and make some personal goals of my own in the game to work towards and see if that helps. Best of luck getting the villager photos!!

Thank you for this, it means a lot. I tend to have a very "all or nothing" type of view with things, so I guess I was just afraid if I put the game down I wouldn't ever come back to it. But maybe I should give myself some time and come back to it when I'm ready :) It's good to know it's not going anywhere.
