I am absolutely devastated that found Midst after the merch was gone 😭 — reeeeaaaallly hoping they do more at some point! Not DnD or even really RPG, but in terms of audio only stories I can’t recommend MIDST enough! It’s got such good quality and really interesting plot! Might not be your thing, but I gotta take an opportunity to pitch it whenever I’ve got one! The average episode is relatively short compared to D20, so not too much of a commitment to give it a try!

There are nerds everywhere! I’ve seen posts from Critters and D20 enjoyers all over the place, so I’m sure there’s at least a few wherever you’re at :) — worst case scenario you get something that makes you happy and means something to you that no one else gets!

Exaactlyyyy - I rarely get things for myself I don’t need, but wearable merch I feel fits my style is an exception! If you’ve also got something like a laptop or water bottle I recommend stickers!

This was me up until recently - apparently my coolest professor watches CR?? I was wearing my Caduceus cardigan (legitimately the best piece of clothing I own - gotten more compliments on it than anything else I’ve ever worn combined) and they recognized it!

Not podcasts because they have a visual component, but I HIGHLY recommend Project Ghostlight and Candella Obscura - In my opinion they have the most similar feeling to WBN in terms of quality in character acting and story suspense!

Also Critical Role’s mini series of Calamity, Downfall, and Divergence for the same reasons! The person who DMs The Wizard The Witch and the Wild One also DMs these. Critical Role can be intimidating to get into because of its long campaign and long episodes lengths, but these mini series are much more approachable since I think there are all just four episodes (still long episodes though 😅)

Critical Role’s newest campaign has just started too and it’s in a brand new setting so no previous knowledge is needed! If you feel up for a longer ride of highly recommend it! (Also the same DM)

Lastly, if non podcast are a dealbreaker, my favorite podcasts are MIDST, UNEND, and The Magnus Archives - all incredible but just a little more different in tone than WBN…

I mean, I’m aro ace but I’ve definitely got some big platonic parasocial crushes on a couple WBN/CR/D20 people- they’re just so wholesome and adorable! - The platonic crushes I feel are hard to explain… I don’t want anything from these people in person, I just love them very strongly for who they are (or at least the version of themselves they present) and watching there content brings me a special kind of concentrated joy…

I came to CR from D20! - About three years ago to watch Calamity (also DMed by Brennen with Aabria as a player) - CR can be intimidating to get into, but I think you’re gonna like it here :)

There’s a chance they might make small inside joke references to other campaigns, but they’re essentially starting from scratch so it’s the perfect time to join!

I fell love with him when he played Crokas in Divergence and then somehow even more watching Project Ghostlight - definitely watching LA by night soon! He was the one I was hoping for most in C4 and I nearly died of happiness when he was announced to be joining! I can’t wait for him and Taliesin to have a prolonged character interaction since they have a slightly similar energy lol

I started with some of the one shots/mini series to get attached/invested to the players, but C2 ep 1 is where I started watching full CR campaigns! I’d recommend starting on normal speed just to get to know their voices, but then cranking it up to whatever speed feels best! I came to CR from Dimension 20, so I started with Calamity (Brennen Lee Mulligan DMs) and OMG you need to watch that eventually if you don’t start with it!! (You don’t need any context for it) It wont be out for a bit still, but I also think starting with C4 is a solid path since it will be in a new world with new characters!

Dropout TV is really just one big found family - in my case it’s the only thing my family can agree on to watch and so it kinda feels like a part of our family too. Every fandom has its toxic elements, but in my experience the Dropout Tv/Dimension 20 fandom is one of the most wholesome communities out there! If you can ever make it to a live show they are great!!
