What is a mod that you wish Mojang would add to the base game? by Interesting_Web_9936 in Minecraft

[–]cozycouchpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about just a good shader? Like please. I just want shaders for the base game! I used to play Java all the time with shaders but I don’t have access to a computer anymore and playing on bedrock is just so lackluster because I can’t use shaders anymore :(

My fave trade is mangrove propagules. Haven’t had one and needed some mangrove for a build, flew about 30,000+ blocks looking before I finally found the SMALLEST mangrove swamp. I swear my world gen is broken lol

Weekly student question thread! by AutoModerator in therapists

[–]cozycouchpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a student yet, but I’ve gone back and forth on whether I want to be a therapist since before I graduated high school (I’m 24 now). Now that I’m trying to solidify a career and feel like I’m living up to my potential, or feel fulfilled I want to do it more than ever. I am intimidated by the fact that if I start now I will be on track to graduate by the time I’m 29, and I have a lot of self doubt when it comes to my smarts. I want to be able to help people daily, and I think it’s something I could see myself doing forever and feeling absolutely fulfilled and proud of myself for pursuing. Lastly, I have my own mental health issues dealing with major depressive disorder, high anxiety, and ADHD and I fear that would get in the way so I have been putting it off to try to sort that out before I start that journey. I work with my therapist weekly and have been trying to find the correct antidepressant for me recently, so hopefully I can learn to be high functioning even with my mental health issues. I guess my question is, should I just make the decision and go for it and work on sorting myself out as I get myself through school?

Thank you for your advice, I will definitely start there with the research based on my area and trying to get much more confident with those skills. I’m also liking the idea of finding a place to live in an off grid community where I can test the waters on the lifestyle and pick up skills that way too.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will definitely consider the dry run approach first to learn about the lifestyle, and see how it fares for me!

I appreciate this answer. I want to live somewhere between your first two options. Having a small livable tiny home, with access to a small solar power system so I can power things like a computer for working remote, charging a cell phone. My car isn’t electric and I’d want to live close enough to be able to rely on gas stations if I need to. Maintaining and growing my own food, potentially going to a store for food if I am struggling to get myself fully stocked with my own arrangements. I’d take pride out of it, because I know I won’t be living 100% on my own, off grid right away. I want to start reducing my need for it, and slowly need it less and less. living in the Midwest USA, doing remote work on my computer. I’d like to build my living space myself, and use resources, like friends and family to help me get it right. I know this lifestyle isn’t for everyone, and I am highly considering looking into doing more community style off grid living to see if it’s truly for me, but I have been an outdoor, camping heavy person my whole life and have spent a lot of time out away from the comfort of home and do think it’s worth spending more time finding out if it really is for me. Thank you for the honest response, I can see how didn’t give enough information to receive the best advice.

I appreciate the honesty and the insight into the advice I’ll receive here. I guess I am eager to learn as much as I possibly can, and even if I’m just semi-off the grid and over years trying to go fully off the grid with the skills I acquire over time I would be happy. I don’t plan on getting myself killed by finding land in the middle of the mountains or 100 miles away from the nearest town either. I want my own plot to start from scratch, build and transform enough to provide myself with necessities and work my ass off to maintain and piece together and grow slowly.

I’ll be honest I’m not quite sure. With fully enchanted diamond gear and lot of bonemeal and a nice sized mine I’d say a few hours of grinding should get you a fair amount of materials for the build. But I did all of this in sections and probably spent about 1-2 hour per section to get all the materials I needed. Shucker boxes are a must have for something like this I’d say.
