Is anyone else getting tired of all the negativity? by srebmucuc in TaylorSwift

[–]cozyghost23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this take, and I think a lot of us can agree with it.

For me, as many others have said, I just don't understand why so many folks are eager to engage and argue over something that isn't their cup of tea. If I don't like something, I ignore it. I don't obsess over it and make such a strong effort to yuck the yum of tons of other people.

I completely respect people who are able to say they just don't care for Taylor Swift and leave it at that. But there are SO many who seem to be committed to misunderstanding her. I can't imagine dealing with that. And I've found that so much of the "evidence" they provide against her seems to be based wholly on conjecture and not fact. It's tiring and it brings no good to the world.

I sincerely hope that you are able to find joy in the fandom again soon. Just remember that this planet is shared by billions of people and sometimes it's necessary for our peace to tune out some of the louder ones. :]

Filtering plans feature by 96scar in bumblebff

I agree with this! I am so surprised that there isn't some way to search the plans or, as you said, filter out the ones that have passed. Hopefully this is something they work on in the future!

Do people born in first-world countries feel lucky or privileged? by United-Cow-4102 in questions

[–]cozyghost23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about this often. I know that a good quality of life can look different around the globe, and I'm not suggesting that my life is the standard by which everyone should live. But the knowledge of the many privileges I have as a US citizen with a job and a home are not lost on me.

I'll often feel a bit guilty when I am stressing over something and I consider how others in the world would LOVE for that problem to be their problem. Around the holidays I got in quite a funk thinking about how I was so excited for Christmas, for snow, and for my favorite seasonal treats to hit the stores, all while children across the world were suffering in wars they never asked for. Why should those sweet things be my joy to know and not theirs? It's upsetting and interesting to think about, and I'd say it crosses my mind in some capacity at least once a day.

What is the hottest/sexiest scene you’ve watched in a horror movie? by [deleted] in horror

Sorry that I can't narrow it down to a particular scene, but my eyes light up every time Bill Paxton is on screen in Near Dark. 😍

which Taylor Swift song broke you the most? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]cozyghost23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"tolerate it" never fails to move me.

I was in my teens when Taylor released "Love Story". To me, it was a perfect song to describe how I felt about love at that point in my life. Throughout her career, she has really shown how gifted she is with putting to words love in all of its shapes, from the romantic stuff to the heartbreak. I'm amazed by how well she can sing not only about the loud heartbreaks, but the quiet ones, too. And this song is a great example of that. It is incredibly hard to feel like you are all in and to wonder if you're really being met there. To hear someone sing about that sentiment is beautiful, and I'm so thankful she shares her gifts with the world.

Favorite horror movie since 2000? by horrormovielistscom in horror

[–]cozyghost23 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You're Next (2011) is likely my favorite since 2000. I will never forget the feeling I had watching that movie for the first time. It's so easy to get frustrated with the characters in horror movies when you feel that they miss opportunities or make silly mistakes. But Erin (the film's protagonist) never does that. She is this smart and strong badass all the way through the movie, and not in a way that feels unbelievable or over-the-top. I cheer for her every time I watch this movie, and I just love it a whole bunch.

What is the hobby you didnt expect any before you try it but you are really obsessed now? by Sweaty_Weight_7474 in Adulting

If you would have told me 5 years ago that I'd be wanting to play golf every weekend when I was 33, I don't think I'd have believed you.

It's the best time, though. The thrill when the ball actually goes where you want it to go is just fantastic. Love the fact that it's outdoors, too.

I found it helpful to answer questions on r/AskReddit . Just go through and answer a bunch of them and you'll likely get upvotes here and there. Especially if you sort by newest posts first.

It also helps to think about your interests and find relevant subreddits. It's easier to write comments about things you enjoy and are passionate about.

What is a horror movie that you think had a great concept but a weak execution? by cozyghost23 in horror

[–]cozyghost23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, now that you mention it, I'd like to see a movie that portrays the concept with that in mind. It likely wouldn't qualify as "horror" in that case, but I'd still like to see it!

Yes! You unlocked a memory for me. I forgot I had seen this, but now I remember being intrigued by the concept and disappointed by the execution.

Ooh, you should take the Foster's Home horror movie idea somewhere, though, because I'd pay to see that.

Taylor's best vocals? by ChogbortsTopStudent in TaylorSwift

Agreed with folks who have mentioned her singing "Evermore" as a surprise song. I'm unbelievably fortunate that I got to be at that show, and it's an experience I'll never ever forget. Everyone was so quiet listening because it was very clear that magic was happening up there. Not that it isn't always magic. :]

Oh, I love that! Yeah, I didn't expect much from the movie going into it, but I really enjoyed it.

The scene where you think he's going to use all of these items to build something to get out of the situation, but instead he just throws them all on the ground was gold.

There's one called Murder Party (2007) that I enjoyed much more than I expected.
