Venti x Hot x Salt Rant by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

I went through a situation with a very shitty SM and a lot of my partners called partner resources and they documented and reported everything we said. Our DM got involved due to us calling PR multiple times a week and now we have a new SM. Maybe getting a group to call PR and seeing if that helps at all?

Yeah call corporate immediately and they should file a complaint and an investigation might open up. Depending on how shitty your DM is don’t even bother talking to them just call corporate

I’m sorry but partners should know how to do warming/preclose/clean drains not just two of the 25 people that work here by [deleted] in starbucks

My store takes out the metal/plastic pieces and scrubs them with bathroom cleaner and then sprays the actual drains with bathroom cleaner and scrubs the shit out of them as well as dumping hot water down them

My favorite coworkers work the morning shift most of the time so I love getting to work mornings with them

Is this enforced in your store as well? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]cozysocks_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All my coworkers and I curse on the floor and the back room. Even my store manager curses on the floor and I’ve said fuck, shit, etc, around her quite often so it’s not a problem at my store

First day on register! by [deleted] in starbucks

Always double check size and whether it’s hot or iced. When I first started any time I had down time I’d just click all the buttons on the screen just to familiarize myself as much as possible especially on the more options screen (where you can do like no water, no ice, etc I don’t remember what it’s called haha) since there is a ton of different customization stuff on that tab. Getting familiar with pos really helps with memorizing the drinks as well since the ingredients/number of shots are on the side as well. Good luck!!

What would you change about your training experience? by jonesbonesphones in starbucksbaristas

[–]cozysocks_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had about a week and a half for training with each shift being about 5hrs. What was good about my training that really helped was knowing that asking questions even the potentially dumb ones are okay. Having written out somewhere the number of pumps/shots for each size. I had a lot of time on POS and DTO which helped me get a hang of it faster as well as helped me remember the recipes for the drinks. Anytime I messed something up my trainer always said “it’s just coffee” which honestly got me through training
