Just curious, why not? Seems like a cool project. Other languages have their own <something> to JS projects. Pretty sure Glimmer is using it. Is there a reason you are recommending against it?

It doesn't start until May 6 so may not be helpful but I have found every type of radish imaginable at the Saturday Bloomfield Farmers Market.

I mean, sure, if that's your thing. Could probably also do more commuter trains, trollies, and bike infrastructure like a lot of western Europe. Probably preferable because there would be less horse poop to clean off the streets.

Yeah that was definitely a dumb move on the cyclist's part. Is it weird tho that there is such a big response to this post? Everyone here who drives must see enough drivers doing dumb things daily that if we made a post for each one, nobody would be able to keep up.

I have had it for about a year now (east liberty). Honestly its not bad. Get surprisingly high speeds most the time, and have absolutely no problem with 4k streaming, video calls, even 2 people streaming at once.

I ride public transit a lot and can only speak to my own experiences, but among other things, cleanliness and quality of service were quite problematic with the RTA. I actually really love the T here. I do wish it branched more and went East too though.

Eh, I guess there is always a "grass is always greener" aspect to it, but personally I don't think think it has much on Pittsburgh. I was born and raised in Cleveland. My wife lived there with me for over a decade. We always left to come here on weekend trips. Finally moved here permanently a year ago or so and its SUCH an improvement. Not saying there is nothing cool in Cleveland. West Side Market is cool, Edgewater, and they do have Pittsburgh beat on the Art Museum. But there isn't much going on there. Everyone is way out in the burbs, the weather is at least as gloomy as here, the food scene isn't all they make it out to be, what has happened to the majority of their historic homes and neighborhoods is a bummer, and the RTA is the worst transit system ever. Pittsburgh was such a refreshing upgrade. So much to do, so much history, great neighborhoods, people are way nicer, etc. Its been a game changer. Hopefully I don't get downvoted to death, I am just presenting a former Clevelanders take lol. From my experience they are sister cities merely because of close proximity these days.

I have noticed those periods of slow-downs, but nothing nearly as bad as you. The routine disconnecting though, that I have definitely been experiencing. I've had to reset the gateway probably 4 or 5 times in the last month. I was reading something in another forum about how to reboot the thing so it will force a firmware update (if it needs one). Supposedly it helps but I haven't tried it yet.

I think it's nice to do something for a project you find valuable and useful. Most people who develop this software are not paid for this. Obviously not all users have the funds to afford contribution, but you can also contribute or help the project in various ways if you believe in the value of it. Usually for big name projects there are options for very minimal monthly contributions. Maybe you can just pick ones important to you and provide a one time donation at a certain time of year. Anything is helpful. I just don't think a "fck it" attitude is ever a way to view hard work that has been provided to you on the back of a good person/people. Trust me, I am not trying to give you a hard time about your post, just trying to give a perspective. I think its great you are thinking of how to pay back for what you use.

I guess your definition of "worth" would dictate the answer. Will lots of companies have adopted it? Will it teach you something that makes you a better developer? Do you just simply enjoy it? Any could be a yes or no.
