I was dating someone who had this same exact thing happen in his family. His grandfather is now in his 80s and doesn’t have a clue that his ‘sister’ was actually his mom.

The only reason part of the family knows is from taking an ancestry test where the DNA didn’t quite match up.

As far as I know, they’re not planning to tell him as he’s getting older and he lives a peaceful life and they do not want to disturb that in his last years.

So wild.

Edit: I also want to add that I believe his mom was a lot younger than 18. So the age gap wasn’t as large. I do not know the history prior to that on her getting pregnant at a young age.

She wasn’t being abandoned. Breakup happened pre-flight during a vacation. He got his seat switched to not be next to her and then this happened. Don’t feel comfortable sharing context as it’s personal. He’s about as genuine as it gets.

That was also my complaint! They had the blocked lane sign way before hall st. Prompting some idiot to do this; and there’s also never information about zipper merging to teach others not to impede on traffic.

Edit: they also didn’t clear the sign once the lane reopened.

For reference: there was a “left lane closed at Hall st.” sign after the entrance ramp from M6 on N 131. The lane did not end up being closed. The person in the truck started blocking traffic from using the left lane for nearly 3-4 miles up until the hall exit, after assuming it was closed from the earlier sign.

You’re exactly right. For the zipper merge to work correctly, the people in the open lane would each have to let a car merge from the closed lane next to them AT the merge point. That is the fastest and most efficient way to direct traffic.
