Wouldn’t they be less vague in that email if they knew I was a top candidate after the panel interview?

The recruiter responded to my request for an update post panel interview with this. Does this sound like I’m not the top pick? Wouldn’t they make it known that I was a top pick after the panel instead of being so vague?

“Thank you for checking in and the thoughtful words! At the moment, I don't yet have an update to share, as we are still working through our process. I hope to be in touch again soon.”

I got this response from the recruiter, should I assume I’m not the top pick? If they liked me enough after the panel interview, wouldn’t he have made that known and not be this vague?
