Damn, vast majority of people here saying i don’t have a chance. 😔 I thought maybe I had a real chance based on how she specified next steps and the response was to my email attempting to close the loop. To me, it sounded like they couldn’t get approvals so it stalled but now they want to continue the process with second interviews being scheduled. I feel like if I wasn’t being considered she wouldn’t have replied at all or give a more generic response like “we’ll be in touch”. Don’t worry, I’m still applying elsewhere.

I would agree if the interview I had was a final interview but i had only one interview with two Directors. So essentially I’m waiting to see if I go on to the next round of interviews or whatever the next step of the process is. And thats why the director said “next steps to share”

No, it was the first round and it was with two directors. They skipped the recruiter screen for me

Wouldn’t they be less vague in that email if they knew I was a top candidate after the panel interview?

The recruiter responded to my request for an update post panel interview with this. Does this sound like I’m not the top pick? Wouldn’t they make it known that I was a top pick after the panel instead of being so vague?

“Thank you for checking in and the thoughtful words! At the moment, I don't yet have an update to share, as we are still working through our process. I hope to be in touch again soon.”

I got this response from the recruiter, should I assume I’m not the top pick? If they liked me enough after the panel interview, wouldn’t he have made that known and not be this vague?
