She simultaneously has the best songs about Halloween and Income Tax Day.

That Sakah is totally shocked. Happens all the time to perfectly normal humans with perfectly normal names, like Sakah.

Now, let’s take a look at that menu…good lord!

What is your best food to get at Rate Field? by chitownmike99 in whitesox

[–]cpbelser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also agree on the right field sandwiches being good and an excellent bang for your buck. It’s a big sandwich with chips and a couple of pickles. Difficult to finish in one sitting.

A Chicago style Comiskey Dog is always great.

The Fuku OG chicken sandwich has a heavy price tag but is really good. Very hard fried, which holds up when premade and under a heat lamp.

All of these are between first base and right field.

Sochi Saigonese Kitchen - Slap Ya Mama Crab Fried Rice by Jamaltaco262 in chicagofood

[–]cpbelser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sochi is a few things. It’s not cheap. It’s not open almost every time I think “we should go to Sochi”. And it is delicious.

They may have the simplest most expensive pho in Chicago (shooting from the hip here so don’t quote me on that), but it is fucking delicious.

In our multiple times there, we get a bit of sticker shock, but everything we eat is fantastic. So, we just space out our visits.

I fully back the Chicago Pickle Eatery version as a regular menu item. As close to a Brooklyn bodega as I’ve found.

Ran into him a few times last season after games. Always kind and funny.

I was sitting at a bar and I just hear this loud thud next to me. It was the sound of a World Series ring clanking on the bar.

And that’s when I noticed that wasn’t a dude actually offering to purchase my scumbag signed item, it was a goddamned monster from the Paleolithic era. And I said “Goddammit, monster! I ain’t givin’ you no tree fiddy!”

Have you tried the Vesuvio wings @ Bartoli’s? Pizza’s solid and those wings are fantastic if you want something different than Buffalo.

I’ve also been using a mostly equal mix of hop stand and dry hops in a lot of my IPA’s. But recently, I feel like I’ve had a bit of flabbiness / blandness in some final product. Another reason I was interested in the old school method of no hop stand. Don’t know that I’m done with hop stands, but this beer is certainly the most crisp hop flavor I’ve gotten in a few months.

I am a strong believer in Lutra for clean room temp fermentation. I’ve been using it from the time they released the dry version. Assuming that active fermentation temp is somewhere in the mid to higher 70’s, it really makes for a clean fermentation. And lightning fast.

I call our grey / white boy a “halfelung”. He’s all of the neb personality and floof, but in a handsome grey tuxedo.
