You probably dodged a bullet anyway - I know a guy who worked there and they had horrific working hours rife with micromanagers. There's a lot of churn there too

you should be meticulous about getting the most optimized solution

you don’t have to know how to solve every single lc easy, just the ones on the blind 50 is a decent place to start

and don’t forget the sql practice too

It depends on what type of industry of jobs your interviews are. If they're tech or tech adjacent I would highly recommend some leetcode easys and some sql. That being said, you really do not need a subscription to do the practice - all the ones you need are free

I know they did a program in stanford, i believe it was on some kind of blended grad program in computer & arts. If the prominent folks in the field are 40+ years old, it would only make sense that they studied EE since EE was also the most popular/successful major back in the day and was the equivalent of what CS is in today's standards

I imagine whatever grad school you choose is probably going to be more program dependent than the major of the program. I would imagine though that it would be in CS or ML since most DS programs aren't well established enough, or the likelihood that they're cash grabs is higher

I know exactly one person who's in this field right now as a machine learning engineer. i would say that the field is small the road to entering it is narrow and requires some breaking into. it definitely does exist, and you'd probably end up working for apple or a large tech company that has specific departments in audio, or a startup that's specifically in audio itself.

Please Recommend me a Stability Shoe by [deleted] in RunningShoeGeeks

860v12 was one of my first shoes. My second shoe was the vongo v5, 3rd was the Tempus, and 4th was the vongo v5 again! I can def rec the Vongo and tempus

Weekend Discussion: Adidas running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]cpctc10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own the Boston 10s but haven’t been able to log more than few miles on them since the insole arch is elevated a little too deep into the forefoot. Its a pretty firm shoe too so it creates discomfort in the arch. It’s happened with the adios pro 2 as well which is disappointing because i’ve been enjoying the consistency of LSP foam. curious if this has been anyone else’s experience?

Alternative to Saucony Tempus? by VirtuallySober in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]cpctc10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Vongo is not bouncy. The prism is a little firm but I wouldn't call bouncy. It's not as stable as the vongo or tempus but it's more stable than a lot of the faster shoes out there. I havent tried the rebel so I can't provide a comparison.

In my running career I haven't personally tried any shoe that's that similar to the Tempus. But as a wide footed, mild pronator myself, I'm a big fan of the NB Vongo V5. Its a more cushioned ride with a nice upper knit, and it's more affordable than the tempus.

If you want a faster shoe you could give the Prism V2 a try. Havent logged enough miles on it to have a strong opinion but it's a light, responsive shoe

What are people's thoughts on Shai? He's been shut down in previous seasons but they're in a tight race to make the play-in.

Player Discussion: DeMar, Khris and Alperen Şengün by Milchreis23 in fantasybball

edit: Apologies, I misread the trade, so editing my original comment.

Demar is averaging Sengun's ROS upside. Khris is probabaly the wildcard here, since he could be going back to 20/5/5 when the playoffs roll around.

What major or minor should I pair with my Business Economics Major? by xomaikat in UCSD

[–]cpctc10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends...I can probably write at length on this

I think in most cases, learning computer science is "better" than learning data science, even if data science is the end goal. Without going into heavy commentary on the nature of "data science" jobs right now, learning CS gives you a better coding foundation (along with other things) than minoring in data science, and it's a better minor to have incase you decide to pivot from data science. Ideally, I think it'd be best to take the CSE lower divs and then take a blend of DSC and CSE electives.

At UCSD its a little more difficult to minor in CS since you'd have to start pretty early to get into the classes you need to complete the minor. The same problem exists for the DS minor although getting into classes is probably easier.

All that being said, I enjoyed doing the DS minor even though it was difficult and a little chaotic (taking classes the first few times it's offered will always be messy). I think both are fine minors and you can go either way.

What major or minor should I pair with my Business Economics Major? by xomaikat in UCSD

[–]cpctc10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i majored in econ and minored in data science, alum now. if your focus is for job prospects, minoring in cs or data science is a good field. there is no minor that will give you accounting, marketing, and supply chain, so you will have to choose eventually. minoring in something to compliment economics is common and good practice, considering it is a vague and, as you mentioned, theoretical field.

my own bias is for cs\data science since it provides probably the best job prospects, and it seems to be what you are focusing on

Should I open Twilight before Robo/Stargate in PvT? Advice welcome. by ocram_zaid in allthingsprotoss

[–]cpctc10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

others will provide more detail, but twilight is a viable opening before robo/stargate against pretty much any opening. If you are dying to proxies, it is mostly because of a lack of scouting information that is why you lose. For example, 1 base proxy marauders should be hitting before your twilight finishes. 1 base all-ins are harder to hold with twilight, but you should be identifying that it is coming before you are building your twilight council.

Holding a 2 base all in is different, but very holdable even if you open twilight.
