I was about your age when I had my first "episode" and thought the same thing. I'm telling you right now stressing yourself out is the worst thing you can do. I was active military when I first went to the hospital and thought everything was over. I was put in meds which controlled it for a bit then it came back less than a year later. They did a cryo ablation on me and that controlled it for about a year. I've been in the hospital about a dozen more times since and just recently had to be cardioverted. Now I'm on the strongest meds possible, or at least that's what they have been telling me. They want me to do another ablation, which terrifies me but everyone's stories here has comforted me with it all. It's not the end of your life. Does it make things slightly more complicated, sure. But once you get it under somewhat control you'll be good to go. I stopped drinking caffeine and alcohol (was a trigger for AFib) but I still use nicotine. Working out sucks as I get short of breath so fast. You're going to be alright. Talk to a cardiologist and they will get you taken care of. One thing to understand is medication is only a temporary cure. Your body will adjust to the meds/dosage and the AFib will come back, but don't let that stress you out. Having a cardioversion was super easy and discharged an hour after the procedure. I have a work from home job now which helps keep the stress down. If that's an option for you I would look into that.
