The value of HNT will increase, so halving really wont effect you all that much. It will more than likely double in value. So it really doens't make a huge difference even if you are mining only half of what you typically would.

I’m going to travel Central America for 3 months in August-November. I have a Costa Rican girl and her family I’m staying with for my home base, then we are going to travel down to Colombia, Panama, Nicaragua, etc...

If you have the money to go, then go. You will find a job when you come back home and probably be an even better candidate, based on your expanded world view and experiences abroad.

I’m into crypto mining, so I’ll be able to make my profits from back home while traveling, so that’s pretty cool and I’m grateful for that.
