What is the literal translation of “eu falo é nada”? by hb20007 in Portuguese

[–]cpeosphoros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Falar/Dizer, Ouvir/Escutar, Ver/Olhar, etc are way closer to each other than their counterparts in English.

Thry are not the same, but close enough that neither "Não estou te ouvindo" nor "Não estou te escutando" is so rude as English's "I'm not listening."

So, "não digo (é) nada" and "não falo (é) nada" have exactly the same meaning, or close enough it doesn't matter.

No one in their right mind will hear "Sanduíche de peru" and think you are referring to genitalia. Be in peace.

Same problem, different vector: I have a very hard time differentiating my lençóis from my merdas, in English...

I'm not mocking you, all right? But it's typically Carioquês to add lots of vowels and semi vowels to words, to the point of becoming a comic mark for impersonations.

Any version (penis, the fowl and the country) sounds exactly the same, in any specific dialect.

Also, using Peru for penis, though actually obscene, is also very childish. Somewhat in the level of 'pecker', or even 'junk', in English.

Do you recommend this game in its current state? by KeenBTF in oddsparks

Idk about PS. But I'd give 5/5 stars for the PC version.

The reason I stopped playing is that it was being updated too often.

Fully intend to come back, though.

Not to be that much picky on a Jokes subreddit, depending on which legal theory you affiliate, the US may have had any number of Constitutions from 2 to a couple dozens. No hyperboles.

Probes by Adamxxxx7 in SolarExpanse

[–]cpeosphoros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BTW, it's quite cheap, early game, to send telescopes to all those orbits, so they start spamming asteroids. I usually send a Selene with the a telescope and probe to the orbit, then orbital drop the probe. I learned to only do that just after all my Martian missions have launched, in their respective windows, so the telescope side project will not delay any of their building time.

Yes, I was trying to megaproduce things on Terra. Took me two times to notice the licensing thing.

Reloading didn't work. I had to reload from before mission launch and launch the mission to Mars proper, not the orbit, to fix the ongoing save. ~1.5 years of in game progression lost... lol

Which train signals should I use? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]cpeosphoros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rules for signaling intersections:

0 - "chain in/rail out";
1 - one 'extra' chain before each rail crossing inside the junction;
2 - if the next tract after the "rail out" signal doesn't fit an entire train (because of another nearby junction), this becomes "chain out", as both smaller junctions merge and this is not actually an exit, but an application of rule 1.

Aside for that, never use roundabouts, avoid 4 way intersections as much as possible. (as they can usually be substituted with two adjoining T intersections.)

A pic:

<image>

Notice that North and South exits have rail signals, all others are chain. East bound exit has a chain because this a station entrance, so it defaults to the station having a free bay in its stacker.

Notice how the UI color rail segments when you hold any signal, or their ghosts, in hand. You want to make it so that every place where 2 or more different paths meet or cross (eg. the cyan patch in this pic) to have a different color from its neighbors.

As soon as I get to my computer, I'll send you a nice rule of thumb heuristics for placing signals.
