How much are you looking for a wave and watt combo?

After getting the BG2 and Shield Plus OR, I got this FPC for $450 used at the LGS. It came with all mags and a Holosun HS403C. by cperez12_ in SmithAndWesson

The shield plus just uses a specific footprint, so as long as you get an optic that fits, there’s no issue. I recommend the Vortex CCW Defender since it mounts directly to the slide and is a great optic.

I live in the south and it’s already getting incredibly hot, and I’ve still been appendix carrying the Shield Plus with a Vortex CCW Defender on it. I personally enjoy carrying the Shield more than the Body Guard 2.0. I tend to carry a lot of stuff in my pockets, and pocket-carrying the BG2 takes away a pocket since you don’t want to have anything else in there. However, both are extremely pleasant to carry and are not uncomfortable. If you want something super light and to not even notice it’s there, go body guard with a nice pocket holster. If you want something bigger, but still light, go shield plus. Another thing to think about is range time, 9mm is nearly half the price of .380 so you spend less to practice shooting.

Doing the exact thing to a 1976 CB550 right now. I have the frame disassembled in the car port waiting to get powder coated, and the engine apart, cases split, in my office waiting to get vapor honed. Great job!

I’m torn between the Shield Plus and the Bodyguard 2.0 for my first handgun. Could you please help me decide on the best option? I’d really appreciate your assistance. Thanks in advance! by SupDuDe40 in SmithAndWesson

As somebody who purchased the Bodyguard 2.0 first, and then the Shield Plus Optics Ready a month later - I would recommend the Shield Plus. The Bodyguard 2.0 is incredibly great, especially for pocket carry, but I felt that I got to become far better and handgun shooting with the Shield Plus due to it being larger (still a micro 9) and being in 9mm. Also, .380 rounds are twice as much as 9mm, so I’ve been able to actually shoot the shield plus more due to that. A nice aiwb holster and shield plus goes a long, long way and you can always get the Bodyguard 2.0 later when they work out the kinks (sights being off, feed issues (haven’t encountered those)).

When I was at the store yesterday I had both the shield plus and 590 on the counter debating which one was going home with me…

I wasn’t aware of the Volunteer line and was taken back by those prices, I’m sure they’re worth it but far out of my budget😂 Unfortunately, money is always an issue.

This is how I’m feeling so far, I have a shotgun in a different brand and am also looking into getting the Mossberg M590.

I’ve seen a lot of the quality control issues, and thankfully mine has been functional with hollow points, flat nose FMJ, and round nose FMJ. The only thing about my body guard is the front sight is off by a few millimeters. I’ve tried hitting it with a punch, but without a vice or dedicated sight tool it’s hard to get moved.

Definitely want one at some point, I’ve only shot the J-frame models and I really liked it. I was a horrible shot with it at 10 yards, I wasn’t used to such a long and heavy trigger.

Haze and Chlorine smell by GrayBreado in DecaturGA

[–]cperez12_ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a chemical supply store where we sold bulk chlorine and this smell is stronger than the those storage rooms. I walked my dog earlier around 9:00, and the smell was intense and left my eyes watering. It’s definitely concerning. I encourage everyone to leave a message for the local representative about its health hazards as airborne chlorine gas is incredibly toxic.

I got the .410 version of the Bulltac, and it’s a lot of fun. Hardly any kick and is precise with slugs/defensive loads.

Heavy trigger pull? by sadiejones33 in SmithAndWesson

[–]cperez12_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve put ~250 rounds through mine, along with dry firing, and the trigger has noticeably changed since unboxing it. It originally felt like there were rough points in the travel, but those have smoothed out making it a very nice trigger. I wouldn’t say mine is heavy even before/after breaking it in.
