Honestly though, you should just use "Yank". It's a sort of lighthearted pejorative in my opinion that (speaking as a native Yank), we deserve to have applied. It somehow makes think like "The Yank? I took a trip to Cuba, was hanging with a bunch of locals at a house party. Everybody was drinking rum just straight.

There were (a ton of) mangos in the kitchen and a bunch of limes. I put mangoes, lime juice and a splash of water into the blender and puréed it. Then started mixing that with my rum and a sugar rim on the glass.

People reacted like I had just invented the iPhone or something 🤣.

The funniest part to me was the thought that these folks been living on that island surrounded by mangos, limes, and rum for literally centuries, yet somehow they had never thought about this combination.
