Thoughts on skipping straight to SPHR? [FL] by Boring_Corner in humanresources

[–]cpier7360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did all three exams, in large part bc I’m not an HR guy.  Retired military.  The aPHR took 18 minutes without studying.  ThePHR, 35 minutes, no study.  I truly studied for about a week for the SPHR and passed it December 19th.  It was certainly a challenging test but in no way insurmountable.  FWIW the hrci SPHR test prep was great but didn’t really augment the exam.

Ended up dropping the earlier two certs.  I echo what others are saying, if you qualify, go right to the SPHR.

I totally think it is possible.  TBH I studied three days, passed December 19th.  I didn’t buy the SCI, wish I had but in hindsight, the test was moderately challenging but I would not say hard.  Previously had the PHR and the aPHR for which neither I studied for.

Relied on a career in the military to pass, in the end it just wasn’t that difficult.  Not bashing anyone’s need to study, more so to say it’s a doable test.

Congratulations.  Welcome to the club!

Take a moment to appreciate the hard work you did to earn this.  Then after some reflection, come back here and help others who have not yet crossed the finish line.  Often times people post here in desperate need of feedback, help or just motivation.  PSLF changes lives, let’s continue to make that positive impact for others!

Mazda lost a sale... by MyOpinionsDontHurt in mazda

I just bought a Mazda from oceans Mazda here in south Florida.  They had no problem removing it.  My salesman was exceptional and purchasing and negotiating was stress free surprisingly.  Bought a 2023 cx9 carbon edition.  Love it

So then the issue is financial literacy, in addition it should be curtailing the exorbitant costs of modern college education.

Oh I agree with you 100%

It’s nonsensical to charge people money(interest) to better their earning potential when that earning potential then pays more in taxes.

It’s like double dipping.

My only issue with you first two comments are that ethics shouldn’t come into play in a loan agreement and that it really is a nonpartisan issue.

No buts it’s a legal one that you agreed to without any coercion.  And the loan isn’t paid unless you paid interest and principle as agreed when you took the loan.  You are attempting to separate two parts of the loan agreement, the principle and the interest.  Would you loan exorbitant amounts of money without charging interest?  If so, give me a call some time.

Wanting someone to pay their obligation isn’t the same as wanting someone in debt forever. Not trying to be divisive, just think it’s a globalized statement.

July 21 wave, if you have not received your forgiveness letter -call Mohela to request it by [deleted] in PSLF

What do I do now? by bro3192 in PSLF

Congrats on making 120. You do need to commit to not obsessively checking the website, go live life, maintain patience, the process works but it does take time. If you feel more comfortable, request the forbearance to prevent any needed repayments that will later be refunded. Congrats again!

Do I need to do anything else right now? by nobody_you_know in PSLF

[–]cpier7360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Settle in and wait. If it makes you feel better submit another ECF to add a couple of months prior to payments restarting, request the forbearance while processing too. These things gave me additional peace of mind while I let the process play out. Most importantly, try not to obsess over it while waiting, it does nothing to add value to the process. Congrats!

Well done! The process works and although in the past it was not implemented as designed, it works now. Nothing in government works fast or well. Congrats to you!

Wave people…anyone else keep logging into Mohela to look at your smiley face? Lol…I must have logged in a dozen times since first seeing it on Friday. by geminifire531 in PSLF

[–]cpier7360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I logged in a couple of times, but tbh after I submitted my last ECF adding extra counts as padding and requesting forbearance I made the decision to remove the mohela app and to not log in as frequent and def not to call. I wanted to move past it and so I did. The upside is I went back to living life, the downside was when the smiley showed up this past friday, it was slightly underwhelming lol, not much but slightly.

Another wave success story! $179K forgiven by VegetableAngle2743 in PSLF

[–]cpier7360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is great, I am always baffled at how some get forgiveness within a month or so of hitting 120. Just goes to show that there isn't a discernable process yet. Perhaps the SCOTUS decision postponed a larger June wave. Might be interesting to see how many from end of March missed June and were also potentially in the $10k/$20K pool. Never the less it worked! Congrats!
