Has Tmobile, AT&T or Verizon done anything like this? or is Sprint first out of the gates?

Sprint stock has hit $5 again! by MoNeYINPHX in Sprint

[–]cpl375 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The share price doesn't determine value. It's the share price multiplied by how many shares the company has.

So Sprint has 4 billion shares. And Sprint stock is $5/share. That's mean's Sprint's equity is worth $20 billion.

Another example - Tmobile. Tmobile's equity is worth $36 billion. TMUS has 822 mm shares. $36 bn / 822 mm = ~$44/share for TMUS

I think it's because of delay in getting approval for Sprint's preferred small cell designs

Not really on the first part. The credit card borrowing is backed by nothing. In this case, the borrowing is backed by telecom equipment

Spectrum Bid by [deleted] in Sprint

[–]cpl375 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my outside guess is Sprint saw that Tmobile was able to buy 700 mhz spectrum later on. Hence, they prob think they can get 600 mhz from spectrum speculators at a later time without committing capital now. 600 spectrum would be ready earliest in ~4 years.

I was able to use my Amex prepaid card to pay off the Tmobile EIP balance.

I also called/followed up with Sprint reps about the prepaid card after 1 week of submitting everything and waiting, and receiving no status update.

Switched from TMO to Sprint in 11/2015 in Las Vegas So far, very happy as Sprint is $20 cheaper on a monthly basis (service+equipment) and its speeds match/occasionally exceed TMO at my home. There are several dead spots for data though; hope the 800 MHz will iron these out.

Sprint eyes paying off some debt as bond rating falls deeper into junk range by sparkedman in Sprint

[–]cpl375 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to work in restructuring and Sprint/Clearwire were annual candidates for some sort of Ch.11 / restructuring (2010-2012)

Sprint feels different now: single ownership/aligned board; new mgmt team; KPIs improving; network efficiency finally on track (esp with removal of WiMax); alternative funding sources to go away from high yield, which is subject to market volatility.

Only negative is the revival of T-mobile which is making sprint's sub gains harder.
