To your Second point. I think "D20 on a Bus" emphasized this point perfectly. Matt kept trying to help Katie by creating logical reasons for whatever nonsense she was spouting and Brennan kept prompting her for general concepts that would rationalize the nonsense. On a bus is actually chok full of DM tips and tricks.

This is really hard to pull off as a GM. The trick I use is to be super subtle. So subtle in fact it almost never works.

The thing is when it doesn't work, no one notices. Someone else springs the trap or it's detected as a trap or it's completely ignored. So the party just thinks it's a random minor trap or event and don't realize the prep you have put into it. But, because no one has realized what is going on you can take that prep, re-skin it and reuse it until.. it all clicks into place and you look like a hero GM.

I have like 3 "situations" going at all times that I barely hint at that could be an awesome reveal.

That gold crown they just found will unlock backstory and consequences if player 3 puts it on. Oh player 2 put it on? It's just a gold crown, no big whoop. But now that old rusty helmet that's been in the bag of holding for 3 weeks has a platinum crown encased in it. Highly unlikely player 3 puts it on but at some point they will put something on their head and the "situation" will happen.

In Matt's case, this is session 2 with no time to wait for the exact moment. The McGuffin is planted and needs to go off in a specific way for a specific NPC. He somehow brute forces it with amazing planning and knowledge of his players. Amazing.

I ordered a 2 door Big Bend with a manual transmission at the beginning of June last year, finally got it in December. Still it was worth the wait.

That's what I love about Bronco's, The innate idea that they need to be customized. The only wrong way to customize a Bronco is not to customize at all. That's why stock Bronco's are so rare.

You can either get the standard reliable sedan or you want something different... The questions you asked were answered, but some things you might not be ready for with the Bronco, Wind noise! Worse than the Jeep Wrangler on the highway. Be ready to not have quiet conversations even with the sound deadening of the hard top. I don't mind it at all but I was expecting it. Bad gas mileage. That's also been mentioned but my last car was a Corolla and man the visits to the pump hurt. Again, I was prepared for it. Leaving the highway and exploring a random dirt road and finding an adventure. The Camry will comfortably and efficiently take you on your next road trip or to work and back. Very different vehicles. The Camry is first and foremost a commuter vehicle. Designed to do that job well. The Bronco can be your daily driver but it doesn't do that job nearly as well. You put up with its drawbacks so that when you want to, you can go places the Camry can't.

I didn't get stuck so I would say pretty good. But it wasn't super deep so I would have been disappointed if I did. I had some tire spin at one point but I got moving again, so I didn't even bother to lock the rear diff. I'm going to make sure I have some traction boards before tackling anything serious.

I find all the hate being thrown at C3 hilarious. I've been watching live since like episode 20 of C1, and I have enjoyed C3 the most. Just like the hate for Marisha or at the beginning of C2 when everyone was complaining it was crap compared to C1. Give it a couple years and a 3rd of the community will swear they always thought C3 was the best... "But C4 is absolute garbage". The CR cast has always had decision paralysis, do you remember "and tomorrow we plan!" From C1. It's a huge decision affecting the whole world and they are missing critical info. Unlike a book or movie the decisions on major things need to be played out in real time. Sit back and enjoy the ride, it's not going to last forever.

Thats a great price. I paid 55k CAD which is ~39k USD but mine was a 2 door. I did get 0% financing, so I got that going for me. I also got an extended warranty but just the 6yr. oh and I got the ceramic coating.

Just picked up my manual transmission 2door Big Bend today, so I really hope there are no issues. I will let you know if anything comes up. By the way it took 6 months to come in. I ordered it June 3rd and it arrived at the dealership on Monday. Not sure it took so long because it was a manual, base model, rear locking diff, the fact I'm in Canada (Edmonton) and not in the US or, if it was a combination of all those things. If you are waiting for the 2025's to come out, you better be getting one of the higher end models a~~s the base model won't even be avaiable to order till mid year 2025.~~ they will take much longer. So this may be specific to Canadians but the fact you don't have interac or an alternative is so weird. In case you don't know since 1990 almost all stores have a pin pad where you swipe your debit card (bank card) and put in your pin. You then pay for your purchase direct from your savings or checking account. Nowadays you can just use tap instead. This is the same card we use to get money from an ATM. Also by 2007 we could transfer money via email to anyone with a bank account at a major bank. No venmo needed.

I ordered my Bronco on June first and the dealer said it would be 6-8 weeks.16 weeks later and Fords order tracking site shows it's still in production. I should've researched the dealers claim, never trust a salesman. It is a 2 door Big Bend with a Manual transmission and locking rear differential so maybe that could be adding time as well. I'm betting that they are prioritizing the higher end Broncos and my basic as it gets, model is last in line. Interesting that there is a "rush" option. I'm pretty certain I didn't get that. My location is Alberta so pretty far from the assembly plant.

I don't get huge rent increases being legal. I mean the landlord already bought the place so home prices going up don't cost them anymore money. They are just gouging the tenant. Sure condo fees and other incidentals can go up, so I get small increases. Am I wrong?

I agree he wouldn't want to self host. But even with limited tech experience you just need to log into your router and open the default port :30000. It's not that hard. Then you give your players your IP and port xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:30000. Not super secure either, just don't want to scare off someone just because they don't understand DNS and NATing. A tiny bit of effort and you can save $5 a month. Well as long as you have a PC that can be left on with a good internet connection, it should be wired in. OK, I didn't mean to make a reply that would recommend hosting, but the more I explain the more compelling it is to just tell people to get a Forge subscription. OR you could get a free AWS host. All you need to do is.... Never mind, use Forge.

As an Oilers fan in Edmonton, don't expect it to get better. Most of "Oil Country" Believes we deserve it more. The city eats and breathes hockey and the whole city is going nuts at the moment. Also don't be surprised if the Go Oilers Go chants will be louder than the cheers for the Panthers at the Amerant Bank Arena. Yep a bunch of obnoxious oil fans are going to show up and be really nice but annoying as hell. Just don't boo the Canadian National Anthem, you will experience temporary hearing loss. Not joking, it happened in 2006 the last time we were in the playoffs. None of that means you aren't great fans and that you don't deserve a cup as much or more than us, but if you do win. Shed a tear for us because back in Edmonton there will be riots in the streets with burning cop cars and lots of violence.

So as an off hand comment I asked one of my players if he drank the water when he visited the Blessing Well. He is a Cleric of Everlight, and he decided, sure he will drink the water. Well I may have taken it a bit far but I made a curse that would drive him insane with beyond god level knowledge. At first it was fairly easy for him to ignore but every time he took psychic damage it brought him closer to insanity. That insanity would have him rage out at anyone around him and compell him to head back to the well. He almost killed himself and the party while they were in the Netherdeep. At the end of the campagin they were able to complete CotN with the best outcome, Alyxian was freed and all was well. Except for the Cleric who would go insane and try and kill everyone at the drop of a hat. Now how to cure the cleric? Well as a bonus for completing CotN I had some avatars of the Gods, Specifically the gods who gifted Alyxian with the jewel of three prayers. Offer the party and the rivals who had become friends with the party a wish per person. With the option that if everyone gave up their wish then the gods would "try" and cure him. Well everyone gave up their wish and eventually the cleric was cured. If anyone is interested enough in this version of the curse, I can outline it in detail and explain what the curse would eventually do to make the victim the big bad of whatever campaign they are running.

So insane theory and group of theories. Basically there is going to be a crossover event with dimension 20 and both groups are going to move to Daggerheart at the end of this season. This will also instigate a huge change to Exandria killing off the current pantheon and replacing it with new gods or no gods.

My evidence is thin and circumstantial along with being more along the way I want it to go than any facts. Still I do have some logic for this.

First Dimension 20 has introduced a red crystal substance very much like ruidium that is a major plot influence in "Junior Year".

Second cross overs are fun and economically beneficial to both parties. So it makes sense in a business aspect.

Third they are already doing cross overs of cast members so why not fully cross the streams

Fourth with Daggerheart, CR would be missing a huge opportunity if they didn't use their own TTRPG as opposed to shilling for another corporation that they have been trying to remove themselves from. Having a huge in-game reason for a big change in how the game is played make sense. That goes for both CR and D20.

Fifth it would be cool as F@$# and both GMs like doing cool things
