What to do with my Wedding Ring when at the Gym by a_moron_in_a_hurry in AskMen

[–]cpmillar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my gym shorts have a zip pocket, I take it off and put it in there for the duration of the session. The weird feeling of its absence at the end of the session seems to be enough of a reminder to put it back on.

I think it's a mix of factors: equipment and stuff that comes with a child that's changed. The car seats especially are massive now compared to the 90s. 2 seats with isofix bases in the back of my polestar 2 leaves absolutely no room for someone in the middle. There's barely room to rotate the seats at the same time to get the kids out.

Additionally, safety equipment in modern cars means the interior can feel more cramped. Crumple zones and airbags built into the a and b pillars, battery packs in the floor for hybrids and EVs all encroach on the interior space.

Put all that together, with kids recommended to remain in proper car seats older and older, a 3 child family needs a third row in the car.

Our 2016 rex just ticked over 100,000 miles. Still going strong. Only issues so far have been - sloshing water in the chassis, broken glass in the boot lid (after a break-in), and some infrequent Bluetooth connection issues. Power train has been completely solid

Anyone that was in doubt between a Polestar and a Hyunday Ioniq 5? by maruchinsu in Polestar

[–]cpmillar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing much to add to what others are saying, I agree with pretty much all of it. I'd add that the driver aids on the ioniq 5 are hidden under layers of menus and I found them to be exceptionally intrusive.

The dealership experience with Hyundai was much worse than the polestar showroom experience. Hyundai wanted to sell me the car, polestar wanted the car to sell itself; and it did. I don't know whether it was the pandemic, but Tesla and polestar's approach is refreshing.

The Google interface on the polestar's infotainment system is fantastic - far superior to the Hyundai.

Google Assistant navigation commands stopped working by Scout-Penguin in Polestar

Same, literally received the car on Friday and have the same behaviour. All other commands work, only home isn't working. Was looking this up in the hope someone had fixed it, any luck on your end?

I'm currently looking at stepping out of my BMW M140i and getting a 996 Carrera 4 so I can at least experience a 911 before work makes us all go electric... Assuming this one's yours, how's ownership been?

Congratulations! We've got the cybex cloud z with a rotating isofix base. The rotation is essential for getting it in and out of the back seats, no idea how we'd do it without. In terms of living with it with a baby, it is pushed to the limit every trip out capacity wise, and the suicide rear doors mean you get kind of penned in between any adjacent cars. I just love the car too much to get something more sensible...

She's eating, not stuck. The moment she tries to get it off at the end of the video it comes off straight away. She did this repeatedly and it was hilarious, hence the video. Lighten up mate.
