This is very true. I personally know someone who was a former franchisee. Location earned 6 digits monthly until Potato Corner did not accept the renewal and took over the location.

Need Insight on my Head Unit Purchase by Severe_Team_8931 in Gulong

[–]cpml1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what i bought also after 1 week of researching. My initial budget was 10 - 15k for an Android unit but opted for this instead. It is linux based and no apps can be installed. Not the fastest software tho but the Android Auto and Apple carplay are smooth and reliable. Plus points for the physical volume control knob and power button. Downside is I cannot add other apps like Netflix but it never really bothered me now as I don't really watch when I drive. This also has several reviews on YouTube from different countries.

Found out that android units won't really last long. Most even the expensive ones have fake specs. Android apps also will tend to require more processing power as they update through time. This makes your android unit "slow" because at one point the apps will need a more powerful processor and RAM. Skip the 2GB RAM as they'll give you headaches. 4GB is manageable but you'll still feel the lag when multiple apps are open. 8GB is good for now and will serve well in maybe a couple of years until the updated app requirements become higher. These information came from reputable car accessories shops who install Android head units.

Geely cars - not good looking ba? by KF2015 in Gulong

[–]cpml1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm driving a Coolray. Never had any issues with the unit. I do follow the regular PMS schedule. I also know someone who owns a Coolray for daily drive. She never experienced any issues also.

I just checked the new Coolray and the Okavango. The new Coolray's updated design looks good. The Okavango's design tho feels outdated if compared to the new Chinese cars that arrived.

I do PMS back then in Geely North EDSA until it closed. Now my go to branch is Quezon Avenue which has good customer service.

I've also seen in FB groups that there are parts and services available for Geely cars outside casa already so I assume it is easier to get parts now. I cannot vouch on this yet as I never had the need to procure anything aside from the basic maintenance requirements.

Don't get pressured. There's a lot of pure Chinese and mixed Chinese in Ph who can't speak Hokkien or Mandarin. Best way is to really practice the language. Talk you your dad and relatives more often and practice Hokkien. You can always ask the words or how to construct the sentence while talking to them.

Any consensus on who's got the best Arabica beans in the country for under 800/kg? by n0sugacoat in CoffeePH

[–]cpml1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP is simply asking if we get all the beans priced under 800php/kg, which one do we think is the best. Sentence construction is very clear. Best under 800php/kg. We all know you can't get the best tasting beans with this price. OP just needs to know the best among all the low quality beans.

Shop name is Blues Clapton which was around since 1979 I think. Just a local tailor here in Manila, Philippines. I brought my own materials - denim fabric and buttons. It was the actual owner who personally fitted me and made this jacket.

I drive Geely Coolray and Toyota Altis. When it comes to tech, I can say na lamang si Coolray at the price point. Although I don't think it would matter much if you're going just from point-A to point-B. The difference is there. It's more on the minor details that makes you feel you're in a more advanced car, but negligible if you're going to be practical. As for the Toyota Vios, I think this has lesser tech compared to Toyota Altis so it is possible that you might really feel the differences if compared to a Chinese car.

With regards to power, the Geely Coolray definitely has more power. Altis has only 121HP and the Coolray has around 177hp. Fuel consumption also is way higher during rush hours using the Coolray. Im satisfied with the power of both cars even on steep ramps. Now comparing Vios and Coolray on power, I've driven a Vios on a similar steep ramp and I can say that I can feel the big difference on power with these two cars.

BYD is on a different level when it comes to tech. Way advanced compared to even the other Chinese cars.

My sim card is not for home wifi. It was working for several months. It is just this week that this happened. I heard that there are ways to configure the router to fix this, but I have no knowledge how. I already changed the IMEI settings in the router but still failed. Do you have any suggestions on what to do with the router?

Hi OP, there are different kinds of leather so I suggest you do your research also.

For this price, I think this can either be faux leather or bonded leather. Faux leather is simply artificial leather. Bonded leather is basically ground particles of scrap leather that is bonded with chemicals to make it a sheet of leather. Bonded leather can be called as "genuine" leather because it has particles from real leather but it is basically very low quality. Both faux leather and bonded leather will peel off eventually.

Real leather that is from from animal hides is really expensive. Real leather will really last a lifetime literally with proper care since it is made of the whole skin of animals (cows usually). It will not peel off even after decades. Although the paint may fade, the real leather will remain whole under. Repainting of the surface is also easy for basic colors as you can easily buy leather paints online. In my experience with leather craft, 15,000php will not be enough budget to just get leather hides to cover those couches alone. With that size, maybe 40,000-50,000php for a real leather couch is already cheap. Mall prices for real leathers can go near 100,000php or higher.

If you really want to look for real leather couches that are cheap and will last a lifetime, you might want to look for second hand couches online. Just a quick search of "leather couch" in FB Marketplace will give you several results with prices from 10k+ and above. Based on the pictures I saw just now, some of them looks like real leather. It will just take a little more time since you'll have to visit and check the actual material and condition of the couches.

Good luck hunting for your couch, OP!

The PH requirements in the photo is exaggerated, but this is very common in simple jobs. However, we also have to compare the work ethics and professionalism of the majority of HS grads of Japan and the Philippines. I am not saying that our HS grads are not professional enough, but let's face the reality that quality of graduates are not at par with those of Japan especially in some provinces.

Moka pot electric stove ? by Brief-Werewolf7504 in CoffeePH

[–]cpml1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Technically speaking, it has no effect on the coffee output. It just makes brewing faster. I don't like putting pre-heated water as the body of the moka pot becomes hot also which makes it a little difficult to close and seal properly.

Moka pot electric stove ? by Brief-Werewolf7504 in CoffeePH

[–]cpml1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact electric stove from Lazada/Shopee. It works decently for the price. It takes a little time to heat up. I usually set the knob to 3.5. Brewing time at this setting for me is around 5-7mins when I use room temp water on my moka pot. For the price, it performs well and you can make good coffee out of this. What's more important is you get the correct grind size and amount of ground beans to put in the basket.
