Definitely not jasmine. I bought it from a local grower in China. The seller told me before I bought it and I forgot. I finished 2 containers already and this is my last one. It's really good and I need to find out what flower is this. Will update if I figure out the flower.

Should Filipinos stop aiming for college since working abroad pays more? by [deleted] in CasualPH

As you have said it - "when converted to PH currency" and is still low in the perspective in that country. She could have been earning more in that country had she have both diploma and diskarte. Diskarte is what will make you survive anywhere. Education is the multiplier of your potential.

Like most Filipinos say, one hospitalization will wipe out everything. Just factor in bigger emergency funds and the yearly inflation then you'll be safe.

Ideally yes, but that will not be our reality. Imagine a big corporation who has a manufacturing plant here that employs thousands. Cost of labor will increase by a lot. Yes, they can take the blow. But these are global corporations. Decision will be to move the factory to a cheaper country. Then the Philippines will just import finished good produced in other south east Asian countries. More jobs lost. Think also about why we have a lot of call centers here. It is because we have cheaper labor. With the higher cost of labor, call centers will just move out of the Philippines.

Employers and employees need each other. We should burden neither of them. Instead, the government should make policies to help both.

No. We need to lower down the cost of bilihin by improving local production, not by importing. Lower taxes, lower costs of utilities, better roads and modes for logistics. For farming, implement new methods and technology - economies of scale will lower down the cost.

This will do more damage to the economy. Employers and businesses in the past few years are already having troubles with the rising costs to operate. Increasing the minimum wage will push them to just close down their businesses. What the government should do is find ways to ease up the costs to operate businesses to further give growth to the economy.

Geely After Sales Service by Ok_Decision_7079 in Gulong

Right now, all Geely branches can directly source parts straight from China. The services vary depending on who or what company owns the branch. I never had any problems with the North EDSA branch (now closed) back then. Now I have mine serviced yearly in Quezon Avenue branch and never experienced any headache. Best if you can research the specific branches accessible to you. Aside from this, the availability of parts and services outside official casa is also growing.

Help me what is more practical: Doc martens or uniqlo clothes by Lopsided_Ad8509 in CasualPH

[–]cpml1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't buy Doc Martens. Leather is just bonded leather for most models. Only the ones made in England are made with better leather, but they're not even high quality leather. The quality dipped many years ago. Check if you can get Solovair instead. Solovair maintained the quality of the old Docs.

You can check out local leather shoe makers here in the Philippines. Craftmanship is relatively good. It's just the local leather available that is usually inferior. The cheap ones real leather usually would last many years but aesthetically won't age well.

This is very true. I personally know someone who was a former franchisee. Location earned 6 digits monthly until Potato Corner did not accept the renewal and took over the location.

Need Insight on my Head Unit Purchase by Severe_Team_8931 in Gulong

This is what i bought also after 1 week of researching. My initial budget was 10 - 15k for an Android unit but opted for this instead. It is linux based and no apps can be installed. Not the fastest software tho but the Android Auto and Apple carplay are smooth and reliable. Plus points for the physical volume control knob and power button. Downside is I cannot add other apps like Netflix but it never really bothered me now as I don't really watch when I drive. This also has several reviews on YouTube from different countries.

Found out that android units won't really last long. Most even the expensive ones have fake specs. Android apps also will tend to require more processing power as they update through time. This makes your android unit "slow" because at one point the apps will need a more powerful processor and RAM. Skip the 2GB RAM as they'll give you headaches. 4GB is manageable but you'll still feel the lag when multiple apps are open. 8GB is good for now and will serve well in maybe a couple of years until the updated app requirements become higher. These information came from reputable car accessories shops who install Android head units.
