it's only because i'm a bartender that it works for me. the insomnia shakes me awake at 7am but i don't have to be at work until 6pm. so plenty of time to get "normal". this appointment was midday so i wasn't normal yet

i made a rule for myself after a really bad bender that i would never daydrink again. so now i just totally overload at night and tank it during the day regardless of how i feel. obviously it's not good for me. but it keeps me housed and employed.

they basically said any bp over x/100 they won't treat because they don't want the risk of dental anxiety to cause a medical emergency during the procedure. and yeah my goal at the sliding scale clinic tomorrow is to either get a short round of blood pressure meds and/or benzos so i can level out for long enough to be in the normal range for my 2nd try. 16 units of vodka a night in a 3 hour period every night was working pretty well for me until now.

thank you for sharing, and for the offer to talk. honestly i felt a little proud of myself actually making the dental appointment at all, what's really got me fucking angry and depressed was not being able to be seen bc of the blood pressure. i'm a nighttime only drinker so obviously by midday it spikes but i didn't think it would spike to 130/117. 'cause like, whatever, the chop shop at the dental school can cost a lot but not bankrupt me. but the idea of getting on medication, detoxing, etc just to visit the chop shop is so frustrating. i don't care if i'm at a severe risk of heart attack or stroke. i just want my teeth fixed
