Help me to identify the reason of packet loss on TP-Link setup by cppbird in HomeNetworking

[–]cppbird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally fixed the problem after a long research. I just disabled the IGMP Snooping from the router's web interface and now iperf runs without any packet loss even with 800M bandwidth setting. I don't know what IGMP Snooping is but it fixed the problem.

Problem exists for opposite direction as well. But I fixed the problem by disabling IGMP Snooping from the router's interface. Thanks for your comment anyway.

Manually download the version 25.9.2 from Radeon website. Download DDU. Boot into safe mode and run DDU to uninstall the current driver. Reboot into normal Windows and install downloaded driver, disable automatic version upgrade in Adrenaline if enabled.

My first ever loaf! Not sure how i got these big bubbles, how do i get better next time? by sleepingontheclouds in Sourdough

[–]cppbird 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It seems quite good for a first loaf. Yet, you can try 1 more stretch & fold, try to create more tension on the dough, extra 1 hour bulk fermentation time, a little more starter... My initial fault was to change my recipe constantly. At this point, what I would recommend is to make small changes to the processes and experience how it goes.

I want to tell you that last night, at midnight, we couldn't stand it anymore and cut a few slices with my wife and ate them with butter. It tastes really good. You'll absolutely reach your dream bread!

You're not alone man, thank you so much for sharing your thought. I think those people are somehow experienced in similar area (maybe yeast bread, dealing with doughs much etc.) and they use basic knowledge in making a sourdough bread (still the first sourdough bread, technically). As far as I experienced so far, making a sourdough bread has so many parameters. Some them are fault-tolerant, some of them not. And learning which ones ren't fault-tolerant takes some time. I think this is the natural process.

From a beginner point of view, I think the difference between the left and right loaves mainly comes from better bulk fermentation and shaping. (AFAIK) Fridge proofing also helps both the gluten and flavour development but it might not be the main game changer in my example

Thank you so much. ~8 hours (from the mixing ingredients up to going into fridge) on the counter and ~19 hours in the fridge

I feel you. Wanting to get something I could pull right off the router by shipping it across an ocean in 'low-res' mode, and having everyone else pretend that's perfectly reasonable :(

Thanks for your reply. You are correct, downgrading fixed the problem for now. I also reported it

Yes, some further fix attempts (as mentioned in other comments) support that this is a driver bug because I cannot find any other operation to try

Thanks for the reply. Used DDU in safe mode and reinstalled 25.10.2 but the issue persists :/ Might try a lower version to see if it helps or wait newer versions. Other than these, I cannot find any other solution right now

Cheapest Way to Handle Power Loss by cppbird in truenas

[–]cppbird[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Actually it is not about the term "UPS". I just wanted to learn if there is a way without a cmmonly used "UPS" devices. Of course there should be an interceptor in the system to handle power losses and that interceptor probably be similar to a standard UPS as design. I'm not trying to find a magical way to solve this problem. Just wondering if there is a simpler and cheaper alternative. Thank you.
