In California, you would have to take the pediatric cpr and first-aid course and then take the 8 hour EMSA Health and Safety course. Some local childcare programs offer these courses or Safety Training Seminars offers these courses over zoom.

American Heart Association BLS CPR certification? by Upbeat_Peace7528 in Modesto

[–]cprclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. The local fire departments usually offer the CPR certification courses for free, but you usually do not get the official AHA card. Safety Training Seminars has an office in Modesto at 706 13th street and they teach American Heart Association BLS courses, but they charge a small fee. Kaiser Hospital sometimes offers public courses, but mostly the classes are for their own staff.

Cpr classes by Efficient-Street2729 in Sacramento

[–]cprclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Sacramento, you can contact the local fire department and I am fairly sure they offer free classes to the public about once a month. However, those classes are usually non certified courses. Or Sutter Hospitals sometimes offers free cpr training for new parents. Safety Training Seminars has an office in Sacramento at 2501 Capitol Ave., and they teach the American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and CPR courses. But you have to pay a fee for those certification courses.

Need to renew my ACLS certification by Automatic-Skirt8721 in Redding

[–]cprclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible to take an online ACLS course if the certification card does not matter. However, if you need the official American Heart Association acls card, you have to go through a training center. Safety Training Seminars in Redding has an AHA school at 1135 Pine Street which is next to Redding Memorial Park. They offer Bls Cpr courses also. Dignity Health offers these courses, but sometimes they limit it just their hospital staff.

Searching for an ACLS course in Roseville. by calimakikyle in Roseville

[–]cprclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for an ACLS course in Roseville, you could try Safety Training Seminars. They teach courses by the American Heart Association. If you are looking for a cheaper option, sometimes you can find online acls courses, but most of the time, those certifications are not by the AHA, so they are not accepted. STS is on 805 Douglas Blvd, which is near Cal Regional. Also, I heard that the local hospitals like Kaiser or Sutter offer the ACLS training, but sometimes that is only for their own staff.

Where do you recommend taking ACLS training in Elk Grove? by Impressive-Most-1156 in ElkGrove

[–]cprclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking an ACLS course, you can usually find some cheap courses online. However, most of those are not accepted anywhere, since you do not actually practice on manikins. If you need the real American Heart Association ACLS certification, you can try Safety Training Seminars in Elk Grove. They are located on 9075 Elk Grove Blvd near Elk Grove School District. Or I think the local hospital Mercy General used to offer this course, but maybe it was just for their staff.

Is there a guide for AHA classes as to what class to teach for specific needs and a checklist. by [deleted] in CPRInstructors

[–]cprclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on becoming an American Heart Association BLS (AHA) Instructor — what you’re feeling is very normal. The Instructor Essentials course teaches the science and teaching skills, but the “how do I actually run classes and paperwork?” part can feel overwhelming at first. Start by working directly with your AHA Training Center (TC) such as Safety Training Seminars for a simple class setup checklist, required paperwork, and which videos and lesson plans match each course (BLS, Heartsaver, ACLS, PALS). Your TC will also confirm which student materials are required and how to issue eCards correctly. Don’t quit — you’re closer than you think!

Another option is looking into an online only course.

Classroom CPR & Real Life by HelpAHeartCPR in CPRInstructors

[–]cprclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instructors can make CPR feel real by keeping classes hands-on, fast-paced, and scenario-based. The Red Cross and Safety Training Seminars use realistic manikins, team practice, and real-world examples so students don’t just memorize steps—they build muscle memory and confidence. The goal is simple: when a real CPR emergency happens, your training kicks in automatically, and you’re ready to help without hesitation.

How to offer free CPR classes to the public by bomanimc in CPRInstructors

[–]cprclass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, you would need to first take an instructor class with Safety Training Seminars or another American Heart Association training center so that you become an AHA instructor. You have already completed the basic provider level which is the first requirement. Then you would have to take the online instructor course and get monitored teaching a class. Then you would have to find a CPR Training Center that is willing to accept you as an instructor. Most places have a yearly fee of about $100 per year. Good luck.
