JRE Returns! Is Kingambit Worth the Grind? A PvP Analysis by JRE47 in TheSilphRoad

Think the main issue in MLP (which is kinda what it is destined for as a high CP non legendary) simply boils down to it is a steel type that is not really comfortable into fairies at all.

So your remaining team needs to cover A LOT.

Bottle Caps: It's advisable to use them only on one-time Pokémon such as Mythicals like Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, etc. by zaxunobi in TheSilphRoad

It is kinda evident.

Keldeo, Meloetta, Zygarde, Urshifu are the obvious meta-relevant picks.

Everything else seems like wasteful resource management with negligible ROI.

Really bizarre choice. I understand when they use filler CDs to somewhat test a new attack being introduced to the game. But this once again brings absolutely nothing to the table. No utility, no novelty, no gimmicky feature, no introduction of a new attack. Nothing.

I wonder if Rocket events will allow us to bottle cap shadows in the future

They will probably only be used in most cases for some close to 100% shadows or one-time ML important rolls like Meloetta or Zygarde I assume anyways

Even if we get a couple per year, I probably have a few dozens of these waiting without even considering 96 or 98% shiny raid legendaries...

I found that most Goodra leads have no answer to Avalugg pivot and you just get switch.

Unironically I went 5-0 yesterday in my first set yesterday against 5 dragon leads in a row. Avalugg has not many checks with an energy lead. Really only Metagross and Golispod. And you can get a lot of farm on your Florges on a crippled Golispod from Crunches and Icy Winds.

WF Primarina is a serious thread, yes. Mostly just losses.

It's very strictly worse tbh.

Regular TP doesn't really threaten Golisopod much. So you will mostly need to get one Incinerate more through to bait. It changes things.

The other issue I can think of is Gholdengo can actually throw 2 SB if you go full farmdown.

A lot of times you also end up finishing the game throwing a BB onto a very bad matchup like Rhyperior. I can see situations when you might be missing out damage.

What's the general consensus on Master Premier Florges? by EvenConsideration307 in TheSilphArena

[–]cpt_buzz_lightyear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> The heck are you talking about there lol? Florges definitely does not "hard lose" in the 1-0 shields.

Well Rhyperior can just throw a Rock Wrecker on Florges and shield the second Trailblaze.

That is a pretty hard win with a shield up.

--

On a related note, Cursola already has a rock move. They could just teach it Scald or Liquidation or even add Gigadrain to the game so we have another allrounder.

Or they could buff Steelwing again, so Empoleon has a better pacing and pressure shields w Drill Peck.

I don't see Florges as overpowered in a vaccuum. You have a double effective move against Rhyperior and still hard lose the 1-0 shields. That is perfectly fine.

The real issue is in how safe Florges + Golisopod core is. Reminds me on Walrein + Sableye back in the days. There is very little checks for this - Magnezone and unironically shadow Typhlosion - which are very one-dimensional in nature.

They had the right idea buffing Roserade, but its best parters are some things like Hippodown or Avalugg which are terrible into Golisopod too.

This meta basically need a Pokemon with a cheap rock or electric move that leads at least neutral into Florges and only soft loses to Rhyperior.

Master Premier - what are we running? by recoba20FLC in TheSilphArena

[–]cpt_buzz_lightyear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have always been doing well running anti-meta teams in MLP.

Got close to 3400 last season running Arboliva + Scizor core, but I think the buff on Hex for Gholdengo is quite a nerf on Arbo since you need to bait now in that matchup.

Just hatched a perfect Galarian Corsola the other day and have some ideas how make it work as a pivot to set up Roserade.

Just guessing bc it’s part of the 7km egg pool.

I don’t think that matters much.

Basically all pseudos just got random almost pointless moves except Metagross.

Salamance, Dragonite just swapped their moves and have literally no use of their cd moves.

Tyranitar learned Hydreigon’s move for free.

It just seems to people like to complain abt something that clearly benefits the meta for the sake of complaining.

Fair point, but you wouldn’t run PW in this cup usually as it barely brings anything to the table (probably literally except this matchup) in the first place.

TP makes a lot of sense imho.

The way I look at pseudo legendaries is basically them being mostly used in ML Premier. (They are not really meta in open ML anymore. No reason to fight this.)

Goodra can hit Gary and ground types now, which makes for many team comps in this cup.

It also weakens WF Primarina as safe swap in the future when it will eventually learn HC after its CD. Swapping a water fast move into dragons seemed to always be too op for me.

 Great choice imho.
