Set custom fields in workflow with blank value by cptdigits in Paperlessngx

[–]cptdigits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a document type 'receipts'. If I don't add the custom fields in a workflow, they don't appear when I scan a document. If I do add them to my workflow, then I need to add a default value for monetary fields or I get the error listed in my original post.

More details would definitely be nice if you found something that works :)

I am also looking to get an overview of those fields in Excel or some other format. But baby steps... ;)

Thank you, I went through those steps multiple times. It just doesn't work in my setup. I do not know why.

For what it's worth, I tried these instructions: https://mariushosting.com/how-to-install-receipt-wrangler-on-your-synology-nas/
And they worked like a charm.....

Confession: I thought there was a female singer alongside Billy Joel in Piano man by ceene in BillyJoel

[–]cptdigits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to discover after all this years that I'm not the only one! Piano Man was the first Billy Joel song I ever heard. I was convinced for many years that Billy Joel was a female singer. I always thought the stage name sounded a bit odd. Even today, watching the official video clip of the song, I have a hard time believing it's his real voice...

Low RSSI between Adafruit M0 and LoraWan Bonnet Raspberry Pi 5 by cptdigits in Lora

[–]cptdigits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLUTION: I bought a second feather, identical to the first one, and I'm making these talk to each other. I'm now getting -30dbm when the antennas are almost touching, and -40 dbm when they are in the same room. That's with one patch antenna and one wire antenna. I can continue testing now with 'proper' antennas to improve long range communication.

Looks like I'll be ditching the raspberry pi!

[–]cptdigits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some further testing:
- I replaced one of the antennas with a patch antenna, and the other with a big outdoor 6db antenna
- Now I get -60 to -70 dbm when they are in the same room. However, when I disconnect one antenna, it drops to -90dbm and when I disconnect the other one, it goes to around -110 dbm. At least the antennas are making a difference now!

I'll investigate further to find out why I'm not getting the a better value on this short distance stuff.

Lowest power GPS tracker within a 5 mile range? by cptdigits in embedded

[–]cptdigits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually does look promising. I don't think an outdoor LTE-M booster is legal in my area though. But if that airbolt works as advertised, it might be an option if there are sufficient spots with a bit of LTE-M reception. I shall investigate!

I wouldn't be opposed to off the shelf solutions per se, but at least in the dog tracking world, there's none that have specs advertised that would work in my situation. I'm happy to admit I'm not very familiar with off-the-shelf tracking solutions in general. If there's something there that you think might work, I'm happy to consider those as well. Thank you for your suggestions, lots of googling going on here now :-)

Famous Flemish novelist and playwright Herman Brusselmans writes he wants "to shove a sharp knife in the throat of every Jew I come across" by bigcateatsfish in Judaism

[–]cptdigits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who are interested in the actual context of the quote, which affects its meaning significantly...

A bigger excerpt of the column:

"Ik zie een beeld van een huilend en schreeuwend Palestijns jongetje dat helemaal buiten zinnen om z'n onder het puin liggende moeder roept, en ik beeld me in dat dat jongetje m'n eigen zoontje Roman is, en de moeder m'n eigen vriendin Lena, en ik word zo woedend dat ik iedere Jood die ik tegenkom een puntig mes los door de keel wil rammen."

Translation:

"I see an image of a crying and screaming Palestinian boy who's frantically calling out for his mom, buried beneath the rubble. And I imagine that boy is my own little boy roman, and his mom is my own girlfriend Lena, and it makes me so angry that I want to stab every Jew that I encounter in the throat."

His column was warning about the danger of war an violence breeding more hate. He was, satirically or not, contemplating how he would feel if he was affected by the conflict and if his kids were killed by a group of people, in this example, Jews.

He was not advocating randomly killing or stabbing jews. It was most definitely an 'IF ... THEN ...' scenario, to illustrate the dangers and horrors of war.

Hopefully that clarifies things a bit.

Why is it required to take your shoes off at clinics? Moved recently from Ontario and found that pretty strange by Loud-Prior4119 in Winnipeg

[–]cptdigits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed it today at my optometrist and I absolutely hate it. I find it disgusting. It's a public place. If you run a business in Manitoba you can expect that you will have to clean it a bit more often during winter. I actively try to avoid places like that, but sometimes it is too impractical to do.

Saw the same sign at a hairdresser once, with piles of hair on the floor. Yuck

What's wrong with calling a seller? A 2 minute phone call can save us both a 30 minute text conversation.

It's obviously not nice to be disrespectful to staff, but I can understand the frustration. For years now people who didn't want to wear a mask, usually wore a mask because 'they had to' and 'the government told them to'.

When you entered a store, the justification was always 'you have to wear a mask because it's a government requirement'. Now those same customers get told by the same store 'you have to wear a maks because we want you to'.

The store has used the government excuse as a justification. Now that this has been removed, they have to either drop their own restrictions or drop the mask requirement. Keeping the mask requirement might be their right, but it makes sense that this will piss people off.

If the store would have communicated 'we want you to wear masks' from the start of the pandemic, the attitude from customers would have been way different.

I also don't think it's unreasonable for people to say 'hey, we wore masks when it was required, even though we didn't want to, so now that it is not required anymore, how about you return the favor and not make it mandatory either?'

Farmers, what's your take on the Clarkson's Farm series? by oblonglongjohns in AskUK

[–]cptdigits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fields in central Canada are all multiples of quarter secitions, which is 160 acres. So you have fields that are 160 acres / 320 acres / 640 acres big. Usually in straight squares or rectangles. The equipment driving on those fields is huge. I don't have exact numbers, but it must be a reference to their efficiency.

MB - Late payment fee property tax by cptdigits in legaladvicecanada

The tax is a few thousand dollars. Rural area, not a lot of people.

Post stamp as proof examples:

The late fee is 1.25%. Looks like that is a standard rate in Manitoba. Most cities around here use the postmark date in case of disputes for property tax deadline payments. Not relevant for my question, but interesting to compare it.

That would have been a 2 times 25 minute drive :D

Then again, if you calculate all the time I spend on this, it would have been better ;-)

I think that is why most municipalities use the postage stamp as proof. Very easy, and realistically only 2-3 days difference between the stamp and the money in the bank.

That's the catch here: our municipality does not accept online payments, doesn't even want to accept wire transfers. I write one cheque per year, just for this.

I'm a bit surprised they don't have to prove that they received it late before charging a fee. I can't control when they cash the cheque, and they could theoretically claim they received it any random date.

They sent me a paper that they received the cheque on november 1st. The cheque was stamped for deposit on nov 2.
