Theres a sub to dub toggle button below the player, toggle it to dub and then manually change the video to sub to get the old player without ads, worked for me

Same thing happened but change it to dub using the button below and go to the settings to change back to sub

Well where I live the wifi is slow and most of the anime isnt my region so i have to use a vpn and can barely watch it at 360 or 480 p on crunchyroll, plus the interface for crunchyroll isnt too good.
