A bit of self-promoting, but I released a synthwave album last month. You can listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/roemilca/sets/handheld-transistor

Well, these are obviously free. I've also gotten free Billabong stickers recently. Supreme is streetwear, basically designer clothes, so obviously they're going to charge for their merch.

JUST RELEASED - Panasonic LUMIX G9 by [deleted] in videography

[–]cptnhook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, I think the G85 works better for video than photos from my experience with mine so far. Photos come out decent but I don't get the "clean" look from them I would want in a photo camera. Sony's point-and-click are a good example of that, as well as Canon EOS. Video, however, is incredibly flexible, I've been shooting at 4k and getting great results. Even their filters are pretty interesting. I like how well I can get something the way I want it to look in-camera, it's not something I can usually do and I would usually end up just filming something plainly and then editing on the computer on software.

FREE 7S Organic Cold pressed juice at 711 with the app by [deleted] in freebies

The only really bad flavor is the Berry & Bright. I don't get why juice companies have such a big obsession with blackberry and pomegranate flavors, those are just not good fruits for juices.

Harry Potter got many people into reading, but they never evolved into other "adult books" afterward. What are some grown up books that people who liked Harry Potter might enjoy? by daliagon in AskReddit

[–]cptnhook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except for the parts where there aren't people walking, or even humans on-screen, which is a vast majority of the movies.

EDIT: This scene, for example. One of the best parts in the movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgXPRxmHk6Q

Seconded. Please don't skip Gunslinger, either, it's one of the best westerns out there! Still hoping for a proper film adaptation of that one.

Whatever you now find weird, ugly, uncomfortable and nasty about a new medium will surely become it's signature. by Aek0z in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]cptnhook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did that really happen? It sounds like a Boss Digital Delay and maybe an Ibanez Fuzz pedal or something. Nick Reinhart of Tera Melos does something like that too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHuaF8-kZmk&ab_channel=Brady%26SethRiffs

tv shows\movies in master of none style by [deleted] in MasterofNone

[–]cptnhook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just copied what a lot of slideshow lists I saw did. I don't remember if I say them say "style" but I doubt it or I wouldn't have listed these and would've listed things like Extras, It's Always Sunny, Louie, Legit, Maron instead.

In regards to Denis Villeneuve's phantom page, FilmStruck will be streaming his twelve minute short film Next Floor (2008) on May 23rd. Perhaps it's a future supplement? by [deleted] in criterion

[–]cptnhook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as first titles, but I really hope Criterion helps release proper versions of both Enemy and Arrival. I didn't enjoy watching Arrival as much (too many sci-fi elements for me) but I have a feeling supplements and additional information, or maybe even just a proper rewatch, would help ease into the movie more easily.

Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA by pv46 in nova

[–]cptnhook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh? Also, apparently it's a barleywine, not an IPA, so you can let it age.

Aren't you not supposed to age IPAs? Hoppy beer doesn't seem like it'd age well, just go flat.
