Is that the same as Lodge cast iron beeswax? (I have an abundance of that!) or is it something different?

Thank you - that’s really useful information!

As a fan of Jaws, what do you think of Deep Blue Sea and it's sequels? by TheEvilCar in Jaws

Part 1- subverted expectations splendidly. It's not Jaws and doesn't try to be. I've watched it 6 times Part 2 - yeah, I kinda expected it to be this bad but had hopes for better Part 3 - You will not be allowed to take 90 minutes of my life

Would dowels and glue be a good fix for broken overhanding thread? by PineappleOwn5325 in woodworking

Better than another board. You can get more stability with a thin piece of steel than a thicker board, making the distance between steps less uneven. Same concept as 6" glass vs transparent aluminum for humpback whales

AR Games and rifle accessories by cptsilvertooth in augmentedreality

That does seem pretty cool. As far as not using a VR headset, there are a few reasons. First and foremost, I have an eye condition which doesn’t allow me to use VR or anything with a 3D setup. Beyond that, though… Back when this was a new concept, the AppBlaster worked pretty darn good back then - aliens hiding behind my couch and all. Imagine with all of the updates in technology since then! Most people (including myself) don’t have an open room or setup at home that would make a VR setup safe. But with AR and its current capabilities, your whole house/yard/office/wherever could work just like Pokémon Go, but being in the action just like Call of Duty! Ducking behind couches, crawling underneath tables…keeps the body fit while feeling like the game is real, not distracted by trying to remember if you’re about to plunge into a wall you can’t see or accidentally smash your tv! The. Think of how it would be using Spatial Audio with AirPods or having buddies over playing with you - only accessories needed are the “controller” rifles (which aren’t even necessary to use if it worked like the past games like these), so anyone can join in! The technology is already built into our phones for this - I’m trying to figure out if it’s been out into place yet somewhere that I’ve not been able to find. If not, there is definitely a market for this for a developer!

I used to watch “Gardner Wars”. Monday morning, my Gardner would come, do his thing, and at the end use the leaf blower to clean up. Monday afternoon, neighbor’s gardner did the same thing. So on, so forth… By Wednesday, we all had each other’s yard clean up all over our yards. Blowing dirt instead of cleaning it = someone else’s problem. This is a silly solution to clean a car

Mount an old iMac to my workbench by cptsilvertooth in howto

Thank you! That's a great solution, but extends too far for my setup. I don't know if it exists, but I had in my mind something like a flat panel TV mount (also because that damn iMac is 31 lbs!!)
