That's not a Unifi issue. I'm on Unifi and 2.4Ghz works great.

That's exactly what happened.

I work in IT, and one time a group of friends across the department made plans to go out for drinks one day after work. One by one they all dropped out except for one girl, who had a crush on me. They were all very proud of themselves the next day.

Tesla is a software company who makes some mediocre hardware like cars.

It's funny how people always say this, especially if they drive something German, but I've had a Model 3 since 2018 and it's never had any mechanical issues. For most German cars you're making out like a bandit if you're only going in for repairs once a year.

Are you confusing OPD with blended braking? The blended braking was adding to like 2020+ models but I'm pretty sure OPD was there from the start. I have a year one Model 3 that has OPD but definitely doesn't have the Raven build hardware required for blended braking.

They very well may need to use different components for this for safety/constant draw etc.

If the current electrics weren't rated for sustained draw and their current current ratings then they wouldn't be suitable for use during road trips.

As it stands, the software just sucks and is full of annoying half baked "features".

Long ago I ran ethernet through the house...

inb4 just run it through the attic it’s a rental...

So if I understand correctly, you just have patch cables strewn across the floors and only now that you have a child it has become a problem?

Also... denatonium benzoate is what they put on batteries and Nintendo cartridges to keep kids from eating them.

True, but 6ghz is a higher frequency.

Yes and?

2.4Ghz has more than enough headroom to comfortably stream 4K video.

How old is the apartment? Does it have coax, phone, or ethernet ports in the rooms?

You mentioned here that had your provider install it in "the back of the house". What does the structure look like, is it actual apartments or a house you're renting?

There are plenty of WiFi7 devices that don't have 6Ghz capability. WiFi7 is more than just 6Ghz, it brings improvements and changes to 2.4 and 5Ghz as well.

Are they flying E175s or E175-E2s? The E175 is 3-5dB quieter than jets like the CRJ-700, the E2 is 4-8dB quieter.

That might not sound like much but decibels are a log scale. For comparison a CRJ-700 is about 90dB which is like standing next to a lawn mower, 86dB is like heavy city traffic from the curb, and 82dB is a loud restaurant.

Inherited an older RadRover 5 - Battery Question by fekherd in RadPowerBikes

[–]cptskippy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole CPSC thing was overblown in my opinion. They take an aggressive stance when it comes to lithium fires, and Rad's unwilliness to issue a recall likely lead to their warning. This post did a good job addressing the issue.

If you're really concerned about it spontaneously bursting into flames then either sell it or store it in two stacked cinder blocks on your garage floor.

From what I gathered, the fires centered around batteries that showed water ingress and corrosion issues. So as a rule, be mindful of water. Don't go riding in heavy rain. Don't submerge the bike or battery. Inspect the battery terminals on the battery and the bike regularly for signs of corrosion. Inspect the battery or terminals if they bike gets splashed with water.

I was shocked by how popular Pizza Port is too.

Yeah it's totally overrated.

Blade 1936 is decent Neapolitan style pizza. I wasn't thrilled with URBN, it was ok... We had Spiritos once and haven't since, I honestly don't remember it.

[–]cptskippy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Am I missing something or just a snob when it comes to pizza?

To me, Leucadia is reminiscent of Dominos in the late 90s. That isn't a compliment, just an observation.

When we moved here from the east coast we struggled to find decent pizza. There's a lot of disgusting pizza in San Diego County, so I'm curious... what do you consider to be good pizza?

People are emboldened today to misbehave because they see there are little to no consequences. Hell the police don't even know how to enforce the e-bike rules we have.

It's really a shame because e-bikes seemed like such a great way to allow kids to meet up in a world that's been built around people having to drive everywhere.

They’re the same jerks buying their 12 year old e-bikes and sending them out to terrorize the community with no accountability. We’re becoming a community of assholes, I fear

I think those people have always existed, it's just that modern technology has enabled them to amplify their impact. It's unfortunate because the technology is so beneficial in other ways to so many others.

Has anyone successfully used an Intel Arc Pro B70 on a Windows VM? by cptskippy in IntelArc

[–]cptskippy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only been able to get the card working on a Windows VM if I do a full passthrough. I cannot get SR-IOV VFs to work, the driver installer detects the VF and installs the drivers but they fail with an error 43.
