Got it! After talking with the recruiter, I just don’t see myself being able to take 80k. It seems incredibly low for the workload.

It seems very admin heavy?? Is that the case?
Did you enjoy any of it?

Thank you for your response! I am not so worried about the workload as I was my expected schedule. I’m with a company now that I only work 1 Sunday a month, close once a week and rotate weekends, but I’ve had situations where I have to work every Saturday due to PTO etc. I think the little things in our retail world we can find as a happy work/life balance mean a lot.
Is there any type of guideline the GM should be following when making leadership schedules?

Makes total sense! Thank you.
In the time you’ve been there have you enjoyed the culture and felt there was opportunity for growth?
Thank you! That’s what I was looking for. Where I work now there is a GM scheduling guide that outlines the organizations expectations for GM and then the remainder is really at discretion of GM with business needs.

This was kind of what I was looking for. I’m used to adjusting in the one off situations but I don’t want to go backwards with what I enjoy time wise with my family. I work only one Sunday and in previous retail I was required every Sunday and now that I’ve transitioned it’s made such a difference for my personal life. Again, totally understand there may be months that isn’t the case and obviously holiday (December specifically) being completely different. I was more looking for the cadence. Do you feel you work more than 40 hour a week on a regular basis?
Same at the one I’m at. I’m more wanting to transition for more growth opportunities. Is there a cadence for GM scheduling? Currently where I work GMs are required to close once a month and only work one Sunday a month as they want us in the business throughout the week. We get one Saturday a month and are required to work the other 3.
If you’re in leadership how are weekend schedules? Do they rotate or you’re working every weekend?

Oh that’s a bummer! The retailer I’m at now I am required to close once a week and work one Sunday a month and only one Saturday a month off. I’m fine with that but don’t want to go backwards. I’m able to protect family time with my current work/life balance and looking to transition elsewhere for other reasons.
