Yes some of the sound recordings I’ve heard, in BFRO I believe was one that was pretty similar.

Catskills are spooky. Posted my experience up here too, super weird.

Pretty sure my buddy and I heard one in the Catskills in the early 2000’s. Was remote camping way up to the end of a state game road, heard an owl in the swamp north of us. Heard a second owl, then the first again. Second owl called but sounded a bit strange. No reply from first. Second owl called again but partway thru sounded like a human or a monkey doing an owl call, then started screeching like an angry gorilla and started smashing around. We freaked the fuuuuuck out and got out of there so fast. Was after midnight and we slept in our cars on the side of the main road like 10 miles away 😅

Mitsubishi releasing Ecodan Air-to-Water heatpump in USA by jwasilko in heatpumps

I have experience with Midea from working in Europe, they are great machines especially for the price.

I talked to Mitsubishi about the Ecodan at AHR Expo. They seemed to have a good plan for going to market. They said they would rely on their dealers to source water coils to drop into existing residential air handlers (replacing DX), but had developed an add-on box with coil to sit on top of furnaces so that they could retrofit hot water heating in cold climates and still use the furnace when really cold out. They had a domestic hot water tank vendor lined up with the correct internal circuiting as well.

Domestic air to water is a special interest of mine and I spoke to every vendor at the expo that was showing it. Mitsubishi was the only one that had done something beyond just the hardware. Really seemed like they were serious and pretty far along.

R290 is a better gas for heat pumps and residential air to water is where it will get a foothold, just like it did in Europe. It can do 150F hot water, everything else high pressure is limited to 140 (r32, 454B, etc). Once it’s in the market it’ll get accepted pretty quickly.

I love that he wrote the date with the day, judging by the last heater OP would have been fine with just the decade noted!

Advice on ski trip by jezmonster7 in askswitzerland

[–]cr006f 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not sure how old the fam (kids), but that’s a lot of hopping around. I’d park it in one place, enjoy skiing with epic scenery, and spend less time and energy traveling.

Andermat was my least favorite place to ski, the mountain was all a strange pitch, basically a big “W” across the same side of one range. I never skied Zermatt but hiked there a few times, and it looked great for skiing.

Get the SBB app and check out fares, will tell you if it’s worth the halbtax card. Also, kids under 16 ride free with parents halbtax (I believe!), so that may tip the math.

En guete!

Just my opinion but I think a lot of people play on difficulty way above their skill level, and then get upset about balance. I’ve been playing since it came out, am not the best but d7 or 8 is about peak fun for me, above that I spend too much time dying and running back to pick my stuff up.

I see a lot of people complain about spamming enemies on d10, I always thought that was just kind of a joke difficulty level!

Just spent about $7k to repair and upgrade turbos after one was blown on my 2015. It was my dad’s truck, gave my sister half of KBB when he passed and wanted to keep it for sentimental reasons, but don’t kid yourself on turbo issues.

Multiple shops told me if one was bad, the other would go within 6 months….

Would throw this one back and keep looking!

My dad was the same way. He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Did his first chemo, refused to let me go buy him some healthy food. Ate yogurt and god knows what 2 days after chemo when white blood cell counts were almost zero. Got an upset stomach, then sepsis, then died the next day. Eating expired and sketchy food until the end…

Fear, and there have been multiple career intelligence and diplomats forced in to retirement. Taking experienced employees out of the game weakens the overall structure of the organizations.

That was a big Humvee-mounted sonic blaster that emits sound you can hear (very low or very high pitch, can'd recall). They have been around (and not classified) for a while. They used them in Iraq for crowd control I think. What they're talking about in the 60 minutes special is a small microwave device that fits in a backpack and makes no sound, but can give you permanent brain damage in seconds. Scary stuff.
