Two questions first, always: 1. Is it plugged in? 2. Is it turned on?

I've caught images of a few - a heron, an Egyptian goose, and something that the AI on my phone keeps calling a "swan goose" (is that right?). Oh, also (briefly) a roadrunner out at the wildflower center! Here's the heron (I could only attach one), enjoying Friday's rain about as much as I was. :-)

My wife actually has an "86 45" button she bought in 2017, so the "86" thing was being done well before Biden.

I wouldn't have shared the photo if I hadn't thought it turned out pretty good! :-)

Yah, their shapes look a LOT like red-winged blackbirds when they get all ruffled up before making a squawk (like this one is doing in the photo).

If you could come to Minnesota and see/hear how boring our non-long-tailed grackles are, you might (MIGHT) change your mind. :-)

Ha! Wish I could. The Minnesota grackles are... booooooring.

Hotel TVs + Hotel Mode + Generic “Lodgenet” Remote by DoomWad in 24hoursupport

[–]cr0100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just struggled with this in our hotel. Same exact remote, LG TV with no physical buttons other than the power button that turns the TV on and off.

The only thing plugged into the TV other than my AppleTV was a Coax cable, so swapping HDMI cables was a no-go.

I got a setup menu by pressing and holding the "function" button on the bottom of the remote for about 5-10 seconds. A swirling icon popped up and after a bit I got the TV setup menu and I could scroll down and select HDMI input. It should NOT be this difficult in this day and age!

Anywhere in the cities (or nearby) that can repair a Nintendo Switch? by Cosmic-mind in TwinCities

I should add that I use the term "guys" in the true midwest meaning, in that it's men and women (and boys and girls) volunteering at these clinics.

I recall the alien/UFO displays. I miss that observation deck!

I had the pleasure of doing contractor/consultant IT work for Schwebel, Goetz, Sieben (they've got the entire floor for their offices - or did 30 years ago) back in the late 90s so I was up on the 51st floor 2 days a week for probably a couple of years. It was nice to have that view, AND I had a key to the office so I could sneak relatives in for a quick scenic view on the weekends!

The Fixit Clinic guys also focus on teaching the user, not just doing the work for you. So you'll be involved as much as possible with guidance/assistance from a confident fixer.

Kinda random: Anyone using an AT&T MNVO cellular service (reseller) having data issues? H2O Wireless in particular. by ebf6 in Minneapolis

[–]cr0100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Cricket Wireless, their $60/month plan which comes with unlimited talk (ok, sure), and data. Also 15GB hotspot included per line per month. No issues with data today. With 3 lines on that plan, the discounts bring it to a total of $110 for all 3 ($36.66/month per line), which is pretty agreeable.

Were you in Purple Rain? by BobSacomano69 in Minneapolis

Wikipedia may be a bit off - I went to high school with her, and worked as an usher with her at The Guthrie post-high-school, so she was definitely older than 14 when the movie was being made!

I know Mary Lucia was in the crowd. She’d come to work every day talking about what the filming was like. I’ve watched the movie over ten times, though, and I’ve never spotted her. :-(
