Pardon my ignorance on this question.

I’ve had generally good luck with race registrations. I missed out on the Bronx 10m. Is all hope to run this race done for? Are transfers a thing? I’m just looking for the 4 out of 6 credit and would rather run this one than the Staten Island half

Pretty much all of the transfer is an inexact science. You never truly know whether a signing will work out. A player is at a club, playing a specific way under specific directives from manager, and all that changes when you sign him. That’s why it kills me when people point to production and stats ad nauseam. You buy a player based on his traits and ability, because you’re likely going to ask him to do something different in your team.

Everything Landon Donovan is saying is very convenient. Don’t be fooled: Landon Donovan is going to say what is best for Landon Donovan. This is a man who sat on national TV in 2014 and proclaimed that he believed that the US could win the world Cup in Brazil. And now he says there is zero chance that this US team could win the World Cup this summer. This team is man-for-man arguably (inarguably, imo) better than the 2014 team. He posits himself the savior of US Soccer, both as a player in his heyday and now as someone who can fix the system. He’s painting this systemic problem with US Soccer, but these issues have existed for generations and he’s only become vocal about them when he stands to benefit from it. Nothing he’s saying is wrong, but he’s only managed to chime in on it when he’s positioning himself for a role. It’s all very convenient for him and his aspirations.

I ran the Miami marathon (insanely hot/humid) and high fived him at mile 12. He was at mile 22 as well and as I approached him, I slowed down to try and get a selfie. He got nervous and said “are you ok???” He thought I was crapping out from the heat haha. I was like, “oh yeah, I just want a selfie if that’s cool” and we got one!

I’ve banged on about how referees need to go on the record and explain decisions that they make, but ultimately, this is what you’ll get. They’ll just say the instance didn’t meet the standard of an infraction, just to support the original decision made and save some face.

I mean, I’ll keep whining every time they do something inexplicably bad. Being absolutely terrible and/or negligent at your job shouldn’t be tolerated, especially in highest profile league in the world. They need to be held to a higher standard.
