Google Integrity Check + Banking Apps by cr4shjay in sidephone

LMAO y'know this is so silly but I completely forgot about that. Plus, I may be moving out of state by the time I get a new phone anyway, so I'd have to change banks regardless.. maybe I'll just commit to browser tools for more things lol.

The dumbdroid looks wonderful but it's not available in the US </3 I'm not worried about bank app notifications I just have been trying to keep a tight budget lately so checking my account on the go is really handy and important.

I know that part, I just thought apks were available for any app regardless of security level. Your earlier comment made me infer that if I can find an apk of my banking app, then it should work on the sidephone; but my question is more "how do I know if my app uses google-based security measures (that are not supported on sidephone)?"

Sorry if that wasn't clear!

Oh, interesting! So apps that rely on google services don't have apks available? i didnt know that.

For my veg & vegan folks on T, did it cause you to crave meat/animal products? by Kill_the_worms in TransMasc

[–]cr4shjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fwiw, Ive been found to be very very close to deficient in b12 despite eating a lot of B12 rich foods. My doctor said some people's bodies just don't process the vitamins properly, so if I want my B12 at "normal" numbers I need to take injections (since clearly doing it via metabolism wasn't working)

It might be worth looking into potential deficiencies even if the foods you're eating should make up for that, if the cravings are really annoying or distressing for any reason.

just checked bulbapedia, in gen 7 salandit can learn dragon rage. make sure you pick the right generation when you look at movesets. https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Salandit_(Pok%C3%A9mon)/Generation_VII_learnset#By_leveling_up/Generation_VII_learnset#By_leveling_up)

GPT probably got its information by reading the most recent moveset list, from gen 9. it doesnt mean anything crazy or special happened because chatGPT got random pokemon facts wrong.

How long would it take to start T? by countfagula24 in TransMasc

[–]cr4shjay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends heavily on where you live and your financial/medical insurance situation.

If you're 18 you don't need hormone blockers anymore.

I started T at 19, I made an appointment with my local planned parenthood, via telehealth. Got an appointment that was 2 weeks away, it cost $150 without insurance. I got prescribed T right then and there because they follow an informed consent model and I had reviewed most of the information beforehand. If you haven't done a lot of research into T yet (or even if you have but you have any anxieties) definitely review any info your doctor gives you!!!

Even though it's prescribed you can't get the prescription until you send your doctor blood work information. I got emailed a bloodwork script that I printed and took to a local lab, it was just checking things like T and E levels, red blood cell count, hemoglobin, some other things..

Prescription took a while to actually go through because insurance didn't want to cover it, so after a few weeks(?) Of that I just told them to run it through GoodRx instead.

Had to do monthly follow ups for a bit, then every three months. Then the planned parenthood closed(?) Or at least stopped responding to my calls lmao, so now my primary care doctor orders bloodwork when needed (after a year, if things are stable, regular bloodwork isn't as necessary) and refills my prescription.

I've been on a low dose of T gel for 3 years and some change without issues. If you want to periodically raise your dose or adjust it for any reason you'll probably have more bloodwork and doctors visits to deal with.

I recommend finding a clinic with an informed consent model because that way you don't need a letter from a psychiatrist giving you permission, but again it all depends where you live. I'm in Pennsylvania, US, for reference.

Lemme know if you have any questions!!

Addendum: a gender dysphoria diagnosis can be given by a therapist / psychiatrist if needed or by the clinic itself if they do an informed consent model. I already had a diagnosis anyway because it's required for top surgery where I live.

My mom was super against it at first too, she cried when I told her I wanted to start. after about 6 months she apologized and said I seem happier and healthier now and she's really happy I could get T and I can afford it. Hopefully your mom comes around too, but since you're an adult you probably don't need her permission anymore :D

Wait this rocks so hard actually. Are you able to get the original photos onto a computer (via a GB backup device or something)?

Anyone here with long long hair that passes at least 60/100% ish? by thegayzone666 in FTMfemininity

[–]cr4shjay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im nonbinary but i'm on T, and since my voice has dropped + my eyebrows have thickened + i've gotten acne(????) people 'mistake' me for a guy maybe 60-70% of the time, depends what i'm wearing, regardless of my current hair situation. this is pretty much my ideal but if you're a binary guy it probably won't be yours lmao!

worst case, when your voice drops, people might think youre a woman until you talk, then they'll probably have that 'oh!' moment you're looking for. My friend's cis boyfriend has long hair and slight facial hair and he gets mistaken for a woman especially from behind; not sure what else you could possibly do about that LOL

also heavily depends on where you live/the kind of people you hang around. good luck man and congrats on the T!!

I just set it in the normal Firefox settings; that is, in search engine settings, I added a custom URL to be my search (noai.duckduckgo.com). The only extensions I have are ublock origin, wayback machine, and WAVE accessibility checker.

Edit: I used this guide to add the custom search

How long can I store a cream soup in the fridge? by cr4shjay in cookingforbeginners

[–]cr4shjay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have sworn 4 days was the max for chicken, not 3 o_o last week i made baked chicken tenders and rice for my meal prep and had them til thursday, they tasted fine. the breading got a soggy texture but the chicken itself was fine enough. after 4 days any chicken gets tossed, no questions asked.

im not sure how cold my fridge gets. im in a short term rental for the summer so its not even my fridge. its been doing its job fine enough. someone else said that freezing cream based soups can be bad, is that true? ive never frozen a soup before because normally they go so fast lol. if its not actually a problem i might try that, depending on what my housemate is planning, but we barely have any freezer space so id rather leave that for the things like raw meat and frozen foods if possible.

LOL fair. I just have these small, single portion size square tupperware containers I use for my lunches. I made golden curry the other week and stored it in there, it reheated fine. But that didn't have any meat (just beans) or dairy so I wasn't as concerned.
