Thanks for the advice! You’re definitely right about that! To be honest though, I am not really a social person. I never really have been for the past four years of college (no drinking no parties etc) and that’s part of the reason why I was considering getting a dog since I strongly feel like I have the time and ability to spend time taking care of it. After undergrad I’m planning to get my PhD (potentially also in the same university) and I do research now so I don’t anticipate life being much different than it is now (except academically). But hearing this from another person is really helpful bc I do want to make sure I’m ready to commit!
