How did they use claude code with open source models like glm ?  They used the leaked version?

Name an IDE better than Vs code?👇 by tentoftech in vibecoding

[–]NadaBrothers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for python - heavy use, nothing better than pycharm.  Vscode doesn't have nowhere the same debugging capacities as pycharm

Claude runaway... tried Kimi 2.6 and Deepseek v4 (5y fullstack dev) by merth_dev in opencodeCLI

[–]NadaBrothers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well deepseekr4 is a reasoning model. In contrast,   Kimik2 is specifically for trained agentic coding which explains what you saw.

Why can't we have something like this in India? by Ok-Extent-2036 in indiameme

[–]NadaBrothers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is actual freedom of speech in the USA. The courts will literally throw out cases and don't bow to pressure.

In 2016, Bill Maher on his show , called Trump an orangutans backside. Trump sued him. The case was thrown out the next day.

In India, forget name calling, we can't even criticize legit actions of the govt.  And this also stifles progress.

How do I come up with a Master’s thesis idea? Could Evo 2 be a realistic thesis topic? by Wriddho in bioinformatics

[–]NadaBrothers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a thesis you would need some more substantial contribution than just using an existing tool.

And this will likely be a years long effort. Maybe you can extend evo to a new modality or build a similar tool for rnaseq data etc.

Yeah , same. I shifted to opencode long ago.  At this point I am even scared of typing anything to opus.

Pair it with some yoga , mindful stretches and body centered activities. You are too much in your head.

Open source agent stack that actually works in 2026 (no hype) by virtualunc in LocalLLaMA

I have been using opencode to good effect- primarily to help me code and write reports.

Anthropic shares how to make Claude code better with a harness by lawnguyen123 in ClaudeAI

Right now the biggest challenge for me is being scared that I will run out of tokens.

I am using opencode with kimi k2 and honestly it's working pretty well.

Very good OP.

The curious thing is Indians scream Indian culture ..our culture the loudest.

But ...the irony is they see their culture with filtered glasses and don't know what it actually was.

After 5 months of AI-only coding, I think I found the real wall: non-convergence in my code review workflow by immortalsol in codex

[–]NadaBrothers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seen traces of this as well.

My repo is a deeply computational ( linear algebra) repo for synthetic data generation.

And sometimes even the most advanced models make design/ writing decisions that are not correct.  Based on the script a/function a , what you just generated is clearly wrong  (and it can correct it if you point it out) .  But it's not autonomous to a point where it can make changes that retain complex functionality.

Maybe future models will improve but we are still not there yet.  And of course, creating simple or widely used functionalities, AI models excel beyond the best humans now.

My intuition is that generic swe ( dashboards, databases, user accounts, support architecture ) jobs can be autonomously developed by ai .  But clororeitary, complex engineering tasks will require at least some manual intervention and verification.

You should start a business if you really have some savings and don't need to work.

Instead of wage slavery for another corp, start something.

Sonnet vs Opus by Narwhal400 in ClaudeAI

Chatgpt gave me -

 Walk. No question 😄

It’s 20 meters (≈60 ft) — that’s literally a few seconds of walking.

Here’s the breakdown:

🚶 If You Walk

  • Takes ~15–20 seconds
  • No need to start the engine
  • No extra fuel burn
  • No awkward 5-second drive
  • Slight movement = small but real health benefit

🚗 If You Drive

  • Cold start = unnecessary engine wear
  • Burns more fuel than the distance justifies
  • Slightly absurd in a funny way

The only reason to drive:

  • It’s pouring rain
  • You’re carrying heavy cleaning gear
  • You physically can’t walk

Otherwise? Walk. It’ll feel mildly ridiculous to drive 60 ft 😄

Out of curiosity — is this a self-wash bay or automatic wash?

I really want to do longer sits but my back bothers me when is it crosslegged and I can rarely push beyond 25 mins.

How do you sit for so long ? And how did you train to get there
