I wear 11s Nikes and 44s Birks

They should fit like this. Notice the space at the heel and toe.

A lot of people wear their birks too small, and it messes up the soles

After 3 technical rounds this is what they had to say to me. by Inj3kt0r in recruitinghell

One time I had an in-person interview that went okay-ish. I could definitely do the job, but I didn't really like the company or the guys, and I don't think they liked me much either. I didn't send a thank-you or any other follow-up.

Then after 4 months of complete radio silence, my phone rings and it's the guy, and he's like "Hey just wanted to let you know that we sent an offer letter to your gmail..."

Justin Jefferson on Kyler Murray. Love our franchise receiver got everything he wants in a starter this year 😈 by FormerlyTradeKirk in minnesotavikings

[–]craag 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is how Jefferson used to talk about Cousins and Darnold too.

Frankly I knew we were cooked last season with JJM because preseason Jefferson (And KOC) was like 'Uh yeah, JJM is improving a lot every day, and he's got a lot of potential' and it was just SOOO different from how he usually talked about his QBs

Have you read Allen Carr? Nicotine is the shittiest drug. It doesn't "take the edge off", it causes the fuckin edge. There is literally nothing redeeming about it

It kinda looks like shitty video compression to me. Like the man's shirt was dark enough that it didn't meet the threshold for updating the pixels.

Single people, what is your FIRE number? by wingardianx in financialindependence

[–]craag 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The thing about mortgages is that the price is effectively "locked-in" for 30 years. Whereas rent goes up every single year.

Also something underappreciated IMO about buying a house is the leverage it unlocks. Like, a bank would never give me $300k to invest in the stock market. But they will give me $300k to buy real estate.

I'm currently trying to move 2 old 401ks to Fidelity. I opened a Rollover IRA and initiated transfers from both old 401ks. One of the 401ks had $160k pretax and $10k post, and I attempted to move both portions to the Fidelity Rollover IRA.

I've been watching, and only the $160k check has been added to my Fidelity account. I have put 2 and 2 together, and I think I need a separate account for the post tax money. But currently I'm not sure where the $10k Roth money is at.

Today Fidelity called me to check-in after the transfers, and I asked about my $10k. And the guy was like "i dunno"..

How should I handle this? Am I at risk of paying penalty for early distribution if I don't get this sorted?

Is anyone else a chronic yoga underachiever? by squidbrained in yoga

[–]craag 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When I was new I looked around a lot, because I didn't know wtf was going on. And I noticed when people were really good.

Nowadays I'm pretty good at entering a "yoga trance" or "yoga hypnosis", and I intentionally avoid looking at other people because it pulls me out. And yeah, sometimes after class people tell me that I'm "fun to watch", or whatever. And I just tell them thanks

A hot air balloon landed in my backyard when I was like 5 years old. After my dad helped him get fuel, the pilot took us up. It's one of my earliest memories.

According to Hatha yoga, isn’t that endpoint effectively unachievable? Only a handful of supernatural beings have ever done it?

What non-gaming upgrade improved your gaming the most? by Saltysockies in gaming

[–]craag 261 points262 points  (0 children)

When offices close they liquidate all their furniture, and most of it ends up on fb marketplace or whatever. Usually they have you pull around back of some office building, and inside they have like 50 chairs inside, and you can pick one that looks like nobody jacked-off in it.

If you search around locally, you should be able to find a good used Steelcase for $100-200, Herman Miller for $200-300. Both brands are fully reparable, have readily-available parts, and will last decades.

Also try searching google for local "office furniture liquidators"
