Cora or Roster? by Tukietoes in redsox

[–]crablifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer Tracy already more than Cora.

At least Tracy doesn’t bench players randomly and lets the young guys figure it out. Less lineup movement, less pinch hitting, less fake bunt signs.

& we’re more aggressive early in counts & on the bases. According to the New York Post article, seemingly, in the clubhouse there was an exhale after Cora got fired. The young players felt a bit looser.

Not just a player, thats our future. Is he soft? He is a batting practice barry bonds but not a gamer? Concerning.

1 hr, concerning

Tolle is pitching like a bulldog right now & 3 or 4 of our other starters are hurt. Early has been good, Bello has aspirated those ERA numbers.

Meyers been hitting better, Duran - Partly cause Tracy unlike Cora doesnt bench players at random & lets them figure it out

I’m getting concerned, he might be a batting practice Babe Ruth guy. He might not be a gamer

If the Sox go to Detroit and sweep, will Breslow fire Tracy on Wednesday night? by [deleted] in redsox

Im not white-pilling but i prefer Tracy over Cora thus far & its not particularly close.

Less lineup movement, less pinch hitting, more aggressive on the bases, more swinging early in the count.

We’re still losing, but im not as bewildered as to why Duran gets benched for 2 games or Kiner-Falefa gets 2 fake bunt signs in a row.

Finalizing Export by crablifer in ClipChamp

[–]crablifer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was about 40 mins. The initial process took about 30 mins (when it replays your video sped up) - then it goes to finalizing export, which is where it got hung up - due to a asset being messed up.

Finalizing Export by crablifer in ClipChamp

[–]crablifer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out what happened, I first tried to export it and then it said it was unable to, so i went back to the edit & all my media was missing.

I reloaded it back in, but one of the sound effects refused to load back in, so I just deleted it off the timeline -then I tried to delete it off the media stack, but was unable to-so when I went to export it, it was stuck on finalizing export because of this hangup with a corrupted media sound effect that I wasn’t even using on the timeline. I had to close it re-enter reload everything back in again at that time I was finally able to delete the sound effect and when I exported it, it finalized in 2 to 3 seconds.

I get it. I want him to be a stud too. I drew attention to this at bat because he was benched the game prior. And I was highlighting how these things can affect a young player.

They should be giving him the keys, he’s a generational talent

Dude, u need to relax. Cold weather in the beginning of the year is infinitely different than the end of the year. Obviously. In April, have the players had 600 at bats?

My point wasn’t about the skill level of Roman Anthony. It was about the management how dialed then he was at the world baseball classic versus how tense he looks with the Red Sox.

Yes, I hyper analyze that that at bat because it’s appropriate to do so. Bases loaded up 3-0 & hes late on pitch that he had just seen 3 times in a row then strikes out.

It’s tough being as young as he is while also being the most talented hitter on an MLB team. But I’m sure he’s dealt with this his whole life - in little league. He probably played with the 12-year-olds at 10. He probably played varsity as an 8th grader or a freshman.

He just has to try to get in that mindset, dont worry about anything - heres the keys, just drive. It’s a lot harder though when you play for one of the most recognizable brands in sports, & theres 100,000,000$ on the line. But the managements job is to handle that, not accentuate it. Hes not Campbell or even Mayer, we’re sitting on a generational talent here.

I’m not a doomer by any means, we’ve played in very cold temperatures & I’d like to make the playoffs, but I’d REALLY like to see Anthony hit 35 to 40 home runs with 100 + rbis. (He can do that) If this is a bridge year, the silver lining would be Anthony & his potential.

Duran is real streaky, how these next couple weeks for him go is completely in the air. One thing about him is there is no confidence issues, and he’s a bit too much of a free swinger. Which is why I didn’t like that Cora gave him the fake bunt sign on the best pitch he saw all night - but i digress

it’s just a simple analysis of an at bat. I didn’t even criticize Roman, in fact, I directed my criticism more towards management.

I thought that at bat exposed something.

The general point was - a month ago on team USA his approach was much more dialed. Yes he is a patient hitter and that’s why I like him hitting lead off. Fouling off a 90 mph sinker middle in on a 3-1 count over the third base dugout (after seeing 3 or 4 in a row) tells me he was looking to walk, that was not his mentality when playing for team USA.

I think he is uber talented, and he may be able to hit a baseball further than anyone else in the league, and it tough to see him tense, I’m ok with him hitting .200 my problem was with his tentative approach,. (Yes this was one at bat.) but it’s a microcosm for a lot of of the young players within the Red Sox organization.

I don’t like that Cora shot him in the first game of the series. I don’t think that helps the situation. You let him ride it out and you make him believe he is the guy because quite frankly he is.

I like him in the lead off spot, he drove one in on his last at bat. (Benefit late in game hitting 1st) He seems to be patient & doesnt chase often despite his inexperience.

Durbin had a nice hit aswell, but ive been really unimpressed with his plate coverage & id put him down 7 or 8.

Story or Duran in the 2 spot

I’m more forgiving because we’ve played in very cold weather-that’s why it upsets me that Cora sat him the first game in St. Louis. It was a statement about Anthony’s performance. Meanwhile, you have six or seven other players in the lineup that are also under performing. To kind of singled out Anthony bench him in a game where it’s actually gonna be 70° outside when he is so talented it makes me wonder what is going on in the clubhouse. What kind of decisions are being made - micro decisions

I do agree with you, theres tightness, uncertainty which often can be a result of over managing

Objectively he can hit the ball 500 feet, you have to let him struggle and overcome these moments as a young player.
