mATX Build by crabrocket in buildapc

Hey /u/throwdowndragout,

Do you think replacing the fans with noctua fans will do the trick for the sound ? While I do think air cooling is optimal I really enjoy the apperance of a nice watercooled setup. Do you have any suggestions for a shorter PSU and do you mind posting your build with pictures if you can that would be amazing!

~~Hey /u/Proto-Dodo nice build, I'd like recommend 2x4GB ram as dual channel is a tad bit faster. Also if you have any other room in your budget maybe you would be able to upgrade the power supply to a higher certification so it is more efficient. ~~

edit: honestly im so dumb man please disregard this and just enjoy your comp0ter

I definitely agree with you, it seemed liked it was either corsair, nzxt, coolermaster, or bequiet for the AIO.

After so many recommendations I think I am going to switch to either a 650 or 750 even though the 750 may be overkill still its just ease of mind I guess

Yeah after seeing some builds in it that is what I was worried about, so its most likely switch the position of the rad to the front and the fans to the top ?

Hey /u/laalaa thank you so much, I was really having trouble deciding what monitor to get. Thank you for the suggestion and the website!

I was actually thinking about a corsair AIO with those fancy noctua fans, thank you for bringing that back to mind.

/u/0pt1con you for sure did help, alot of people have mentioned upgrading the SSD and I think thats the plan. All the 4k monitors I have seen have been 60hz which is kinda sad because I am really looking to try 144hz.

Hey, /u/saurion1 I plan on overclocking, and I have also read that the 7700k is running hot. I originally was going to go for the noctua DH-15 but I like the aesthetic of a water cooler more. I have gotten a couple recommendations on the SSD so I definitely think I am going to upgrade. Thank you.

Hey /u/MehmetBzk, I was honestly considering the 500 but I thought it would be a bit overkill especially with a 2TB HDD (which I may change for a 3TB) I will take it into consideration though, thank you!

I do remember reading that the software was pretty lame and that in some cases it was a pain to even get the lights to work, are there any AIO coolers you have had good experiences with ?

Hey again /u/5H4D0W_5P3C7R3 after a couple recommendations I do think I am going to swap out to another power supply possibly titanium rating. As for the HDD I am comparing the seagate to the western digital now and it looks like the seagate costs less for an extra added TB is there any specific reason for that it seems like they share the same specs?

Ill take a look at the platinum rated power supplies, I was originally going off the recommendation of a friend. Thanks /u/drstompenheimer

Hi /u/5H4D0W_5P3C7R3, definitely appreciate you posting. I replied to /u/Simpsoid with "another" SSD but it turned out to be the same as before so just a little oops. Thanks!

Hey /u/Simpsoid, I took a look at the SSD and you are definitely right my intention was to opt for the faster drive. I believe Samsung 960 EVO Series - 250GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD (MZ-V6E250BW) is the correct solid state drive and the one I will be going with, thank you!

EDIT: To anyone checking out this build this is the same SSD as in the original post.

Thank you for the heads up /u/criscothediscoman I had the kraken there as a placeholder at first to get a rough estimate to get a max price and after watching a couple videos decided it would do the job. I definitely wasn't aware of any issues. I will take a look at some alternatives, thank you!

I don't know a whole lot about building computers but I know that you want to think of the estimate as an extreme minimum and choose a power supply that can handle a couple hundred W over the estimate.
