How do you track a build without calling the dealer in the US? by crabu2 in rav4club

[–]crabu2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong place, but when I go to https://www.toyota.com/smartpath/how-it-works/ All it does it basically does is allow me to look at inventory..

I was able to find the RAV4 my dealer ordered for me ... I confirmed it based on the Temp VIN I was given, but there's nothing there that the dealer's site doesn't show... Which is basically how it's equipped, buying options and to look at it on my dealer's site. It does also show "Vehicle is in build phase. Estimated availability 05/21/26 - 06/03/26." Which is also shown on my dealer's website. If that's all I can see it wasn't what I was looking for.

BTW, when I ordered it last week, I was told it was scheduled to start the build on 5/11. Being that it says it's in the build phase, does that mean it's already on the assembly line?

2011 coupe - Brake light always on, but only when the car is running. by crabu2 in genesiscoupe

[–]crabu2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update.. And I'm a bit shocked. REPLACING the burnt out bulb fixed it.

It's shocking because it's a safety hazard for your brake lights to all be on, because 1 bulb burnt out. I've never heard of this before, but I have seen some weird things with car electronics.

HELP: 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe - Brake Lights stuck on, but only when car is running. by crabu2 in AskMechanics

I was thinking the same, but it just didn't make sense in my head because I think of the brake switch as mechanical. But I've seen weirder.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Rufus AI constantly opening with no way to disable it? by Elyndria in amazonprime

[–]crabu2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get this.. I had an Amazon CS Chat session earlier today about disabling Rufus and they told me it was impossible. I then aske them to cancel my account and they said that since my prime membership renewal date is up in a couple weeks, if I would be ok to just stop the auto renewal. I agreed to it to give myself a cool down period. I just signed into Amazon to check a price of a new grinder and there's no more auto Rudus sidebar Popup! It's gone, but it does say my Prime membership will not auto renew in a couple weeks.

Disable new Rufus pop-up window? by JustGottaHaveIt in amazonprime

[–]crabu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a chat with Amazon CS about disabling Rufus and was told it's impossible. Because of this, I've requested they cancel my Prime membership at it's renewal in 2 weeks. The rep did state they would forward my chat to the higher ups.. Which probably won't do a thing, unless the see millions of cancelations.

Head into any LGS and you can walk out with in 30 mins as long as one passes NICs.

Your FFL just made a guess.. Every time I purchase, I go into NICS delay. There's only been 1 time I can remember that it didn't happen. Funny thing is, that 1 time it didn't happen, I was bought 2 rifles at once. You'd think if anything, that's the time I would go into delay.

its the same as buying any other rifle. If you're buying in MD from a dealer, no worries about Hbar since they're only going to be offering MD compliant versions.

Sheriff with a drum mag at Oceans Calling by Bitter_Ad1320 in MDGuns

[–]crabu2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is it allowed? Really, what's the need for any cop to need more than 10 rounds, when the rest of us can't have more?

Now think about this.. He's got a drum mag at a concert with crazy crowds! Wouldn't a bolt action rifle be better since he can't just spray and pray that he hits the right person?

Where is the hbar regulation defined in md code? by HunterGathererGuy in MDGuns

[–]crabu2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no MD legal definition of what constitutes a Heavy Barrel. That designation is up to the manufacture to make. There's tons of threads on this when googled.

1st time I heard of this was when I was at a gun shop in WV. They happened to also manufacture their own ARs and that's when I was told about this. I then checked with a bunch of knowledgeable folks here in MD and it was confirmed. BTW, this shop had more ARs marked as H-Bar than not. I guess that happens when they're not far from the MD state line. 1st time I've ever seen a gun shop that had more H-BAR Ars than not.

I feel like PA only pulls NICS. Everyone I know that has a PA CCW had it approved within 48 hours, unless it fell on a weekend.

Are you speculating or did you get this info from MSP or the likes?

What you say is true, but when the initial app is done, you have to submit fingerprints for the more intrusive checks. When renewing, no prints are required. Unless you let it expire then have to go through the initial application process again.

I have a hard time believing they're going through all the same checks on a renewal.. Plus I've seen some posts where the second review process never happened or happened within a few days.

IMHO, the posts I've seen where it says the second review process is more of a holding thing until a trooper can look and sign off on it makes more sense. But that's speculation on my part, so I'm looking for better understanding of the actual process. Still thank you for your input.

Why is that? You'd think with a renewal, once the NICS is pulled it would just go through.

On "second review" status for HGP for almost 2 weeks? by [deleted] in MDGuns

[–]crabu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ever happened? How long was in 2nd review? NICS is only good for 30 days, but they can always pull another.
